The Wales Sportive routes

The course is a 45 mile, 66 mile or 112 mile sportive, depending on entry level. The Wales Sportive can be entered by anyone who feels they are capable of completing the distances. There is gender separation, so men and women compete for first place in their respective category.

There are three different distances for The Wales Sportive. The short distance of 45 miles, the mid-distance route of 66 miles, as well as the full distance course of 112 miles, for the athletes who really want to push their limits.

The Wales Sportive is an open road event, so traffic from cars and other vehicles will needs to expected whilst out on the route. Signs and marshals will be placed at junctions and points along the route to help monitor this, as well as manning water and feed stations for cyclists use.

Cyclists competing in each of the categories will have a staggered start, with the 112 mile athletes starting first and the 45 mile athletes leaving last. The 45 mile course will be one lap of the small circuit, whilst 66 mile cyclists will head off towards Angle before finishing the small circuit. The 112 mile course follows the same route as the 66 mile course; however has an extra lap of the small circuit before reaching the finish line.

Superb event very well organised and support from locals was amazing will be back next year to do the full LCW.
I also completed the 2.4 mile swim on the Friday evening but my result was showing as time query which is a pity as I know I successfully completed the course in just over 1hr 20 mins recorded on my garmin. I’m guessing this may be an issue with the chip but as I wasn’t doing full lcw was not overly worried.
Great event and will be highly recommending
