The 10k run takes you through the stunning Thretford Forest, along winding trails and great quality tracks. The beautiful location, with tall pines all around provides a chance to get closer to nature.
The race consists of 1 loop within the picturesque Thretford Forest, which will be well signed and marshalled. The race starts and finishes in a field adjacent to the High Lodge Arena. I love the idea of having 3 races very close together on the same course. A chance to improve and to experience different temperatures. I always find races where headphones are allowed to dampen the atmosphere. No one talked and encouraged each other. I tried to speak to a couple of runners only to get blanked. Great venue. Well organised. Well marshalled. Just needs a bit more atmosphere on the course.

Well organised and great to do a trail run through a forest. Course itself was a little boring for me - lots of straight trails for long periods of time. Would be good to have more turns and may be uphill and downhill but you can only work with the land you've got. Also a little annoyed to have to pay 3 for parking on top of the race costs - would have been good to have a special discount for just 2 hours rather than a whole day 3 charge.

I loved this run. Marshall s and everyone helping were really friendly. Plenty of parking at a reasonable price. My only complaint was the way in which the chips were collected at the end of the race. When you cross the line all you really want to do is catch your breath and walk it out. Instead, immediately after the finish line runners were stopped in order to have their chips cut from their trainers so I found myself, feeling slightly nauseous packed in amongst other runners and I couldn't get out which just made me feel claustrophobic. Overall though a great morning, I can't wait for the next one :-)

Enjoyable race, on a pretty flat course through Thetford forests wide tracks. Course quite hard packed so not many issues with gravel or sand. Quick and easy sign on and someone to warm you up. Really enjoyed it, and will be back next year.

This was an utterly pleasant experience. One of the benefits of doing trail running is that I do not care one bit about what time I do the run in, only what the scenery looks like as it slowly moves past me. Because of this, I was able to enjoy the lead up to the run by swapping my normal pre-race breakfast of water and fruit and some high protein energy bars for an altogether far more civilised bowl of frosties and a black coffee. The run started at 1030, and the sun was already out and the temperature was glorious. The set up at the race was impeccable, the staff all did a great job. The run itself was fantastic, mostly flat and a good solid track with minimal tree roots to trip on. The scenery was nice, the other runners were friendly (Im that guy who chats to people as I go round I think most people would rather I didnt but it encourages them to run faster away from me ) and all the correct amounts of water and snacks were given out by the race team. I highly recommend this event for people that are new to trail running and anyone that enjoys watching squirrels running for their little lives away from all the runners I did get a finish time, but ultimately who cares, I had a lovely time and got a snazzy little medal to add to the collection.
