Tollymore Trail Marathon Events routes

The event will be a looped event with participants completing one loop for a half marathon, two loops for a full marathon and three loops for the ultra marathon (40 miles). The 10K event will encompass part of the route.

The route will showcase the beauty of Tollymore and strengthen the Newcastle/Castlewellan area as a great playground for adventure sports enthusiasts.

The Tollymore Trail Marathon will be a fully waymarked event and will be based solely within the confines of Tollymore Forest Park. The route will follow a series of forest trails throughout the forest whilst all the time taking in the spectacular scenery of this location, however, participants should prepare for a challenge. The route is anything but flat and features a series of thigh-burning climbs along leafy forest trails.

Great run with beautiful scenery but fault seems to lie with 'letsdothis' who didn't communicate with the organisers leaving me with a random in, no official time yet and no t-shirt which is a little disappointing.

My first time to run with 26Extreme, I really enjoyed it. Stewards along the route were lovely, and choice of food at the water stations was excellent. I'll definately come back
  • Did the 10K in 2019

I did the 10k. It was a fantastic course - it’s one to do for the joy of running rather than to chase PBs. It’s a challenging, hilly run but beautiful. Great event. Well organised. Definitely on my ‘must to that one again’ list. Thanks to all involved in making it happen.

My first ever trail run - really enjoyed it
Downside was that they didn’t have my number ready as letsdothis didn’t communicate with the organisers (it’s what we were told anyway) so just got a random bib number - also no message about results or anything ... did enjoy the course though

Very disappointed that having pre registered Let’s do this did not send the information on to 26 extreme so no bib was available when we turned up - also we did not receive the link to the results - so 2 days later I still haven’t seen my official result! It was clearly a mistake to book through letsdothis and I will make sure I never do that again!! Make sure if you plan to register for any events that you do it through SI entries ! Maybe 26Extreme should highlight this too on their website !!

Fantastic race, great trials and a good turnout! It would be nice if the course distance was more accurate. Came up a little short of the 21.1km.

Did the Ultra Marathon in 2019

I had booked for this event 2 months in advance. On arrival I was told I was not registered as were a few other runners, this was apparently because we use the Let's do this website. On completion of the ULTRA. I did not receive my medal as there were none left for the ULTRA event as they only had 50. I also didnt get a Buff or T-shirt.
To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Let's do this must try harder to pass information on if they are to be used to book. 26 Extreme did their best to sort this issue quickly and I have been told they will send my medal and hopefully other stuff in the Post. I can only hope that they do asap. 26 Extreme well done for a smooth event. Let's do this must try harder to ensure they check entries.

Great trail run! Really enjoyable ultra - great scenery and helpful volunteers all the way through. Definitely recommend this one!
  • Did the 10K in 2018

Participated in the 26Extreme Tollymore Trail 10k event 3 times and on 3rd attempt managed to come 3rd. All events are very well organised with plenty of sign posting, adequate water stations and post-race refreshments. I'd recommend 26Extreme for anyone wanting to try a running or ultra event. Looking forward to attending again.
