Event day logistics
At the start / finish area you will find all of the event facilities including medical staff, toilets and the results station. You can leave personal belongings at the event tent for collection after the cycle provided they are clearly labelled. You can also drop off your own nutrition for the aid station as long as you do so before 10:35, again provided it is clearly labelled.
There will be an Aid Station on the Cycle course providing providing nutrition, water & soft drinks in plastic cups. Those on the Fun Ride will pass this once and those on the 82km Cyclosportive twice. We recommend training using additional on-course nutrition supplements as part of your preparation – your supplies can be dropped off at the race tent. At the finish there will be refreshments available along with a BBQ provided by Bradwell Marina Bar & Cafe.
During the event please watch out for the triathletes. They are in a race so may travel past you at speed. Keep your wits about you and remember to be safe!

Spectator Info
The Tour of the Dengie runs alongside the Big East Triathlon so there are plenty of opportunities for both spectators and cyclists during and after the cycle sportive.
If you would like to view the cycle course we recommend heading to the aid station where Mayland Hill crosses with Southminster Road. If you walk up Mayland Hill you will see a great view at the top! Alternatively head out into the Dengie and investigate the area, there are plenty of small towns and villages where you can have a drink and cheer the athletes on. Please DO NOT follow athletes around the course, this is outside assistance and they will be disqualified. We also ask that you do not park anywhere which may be disruptive or dangerous to the athletes.
By the time the run gets going the athletes will really need your support! The run takes athletes to the RAF memorial, towards St Peters Chapel, along the sea wall and past the nuclear power station before going back through Bradwell Marina and the transition/finish area. All of which are well worth a visit and provide great spots to support the athletes on their journey. The athletes will complete 1 or 2 loops depending upon which distance they are doing and will pass the finish area on each lap. Bradwell Marina Cafe & Bar will be providing a bbq and refreshments here too. By the time the athletes finish they will have been racing for the best part of a day and really deserve a huge amount of congratulations!
Remember that everyone is here to help all the athletes and give them a memorable day. Please cooperate with the marshals and event staff.
