Route information
Treeathlon is an event designed for all abilities and fitness levels, you do not need to be super fit and you do not need a fancy bike. All profits from this event go towards organisations replanting trees to combat climate change in Africa. The target for 2021 is to plant 10,000 trees!
All the races are named after trees that are especially good at sequestering carbon:

The shorter races will take place over easier terrain with the longer races taking on more challenging terrain.
All the different race categories have been designed for people with different levels of ability and fitness, allowing anyone to take part in this brilliant event.
For example, the shortest event on offer, Hazel 8, is a short race with a low degree of difficulty allowing almost anyone to take part. Where as the longest event on offer, Oak 35, has been designed for adventurers who are really looking for a challenge. The terrain will be difficult and will include some steep climbs.
So as you can see this event has something for everyone, and anyone that wants a cracking day out and to get behind a brilliant cause.

Pippingford Park is situated in East Sussex and can be accessed from the A22 or the A26.
The event organiser would like to encourage lift sharing and the use of public transport.
Parking
There will be free parking available on-site.

There are a number of bus stops along the A22 within a couple of miles of the venue.

Age Restrictions
You must be at least 16 years old to take part.
Mandatory Kit
- Gravel/hybrid or mountain bike
- A refillable water bottle (there will not be any water for sale in single-use plastics)
- Your confirmation email
- Sunscreen
- Normal running clothing
- Footwear with good traction and cushion

What is the event raising money for?

Do I need my own bike to take part?
You do need your own bike to take part. A gravel/hybrid or a mountain bike is perfect for the shorter distances. If you do not have a bike, the event organiser has partnered with British Bike Hire for rental services. Please contact the organiser directly to find out more.
What level of fitness do I need to be to take part?
This event has something for everyone, and the shortest race should be able to be completed by almost anyone.

Normal breathable running gear is absolutely plenty for this event, the trails are off road so your shoes will require some traction and cushion.
