Route information
Treeathlon is an event designed for all abilities and fitness levels, you do not need to be super fit and you do not need a fancy bike. All profits from this event go towards organisations replanting trees to combat climate change in Africa. The target for 2021 is to plant 10,000 trees!
All the races are named after trees that are especially good at sequestering carbon:
  • Birch 10 - Run 10k
  • Hazel 8 - Run 3k, cycle 5k
  • Moringa 15 - Run 5k, cycle 10k
  • Maple 25 - Run 10k, cycle 15k
  • Oak 35 - Run 15k, cycle 20k
The shorter races will take place over easier terrain with the longer races taking on more challenging terrain.
All the different race categories have been designed for people with different levels of ability and fitness, allowing anyone to take part in this brilliant event.
For example, the shortest event on offer, Hazel 8, is a short race with a low degree of difficulty allowing almost anyone to take part. Where as the longest event on offer, Oak 35, has been designed for adventurers who are really looking for a challenge. The terrain will be difficult and will include some steep climbs.
So as you can see this event has something for everyone, and anyone that wants a cracking day out and to get behind a brilliant cause.
