About
///EVENT CANCELLED///The Triathlon England East Region Relays in 2019 are proudly presented by Born2Tri, based at the quiet Boreham Lake facility, Trifarm. Trifarm is located within 10 minutes of Chelmsford and Maldon, Essex. This popular open water swimming venue is well known within the region for its clear waters, 1km off road running track and perfect local cycling terrain. The relay format will follow the ITU’s Triathlon Relay format which brings triathlon racing in its most thrilling format. Athletes must complete a super-sprint triathlon - 200m swim, 10km closed road bike and 2km run - before tagging off to a teammate. Among the most exciting aspects of these races for spectators is the athletes’ dramatic sprint after being tagged by their teammate, as well as the intensity and speed from start to finish, the tight back-and-forth lead changes and team pride that this innovative racing format elicits.Teams of four members can either form an all male, all female or mixed team with two males and two females (female - male - female - male).
