Route information
From the start line close to the iconic Victorian pier, your swim will head out into the Irish Sea at the warmest point of the year. Once back on dry land, the bike section will take you around two laps of Marine Drive for the Sprint race and 4 laps for the Standard race. This section circumnavigates the Great Orme on this beautiful coastal road, which is closed to vehicles for the event. Your run then follows the line of the beach, taking you down the promenade, lined with supporters for a hero's welcome back to the finish line!

Parking information is included in your final instructions which will be emailed at least 10 days prior to the event. Please be considerate to the local residents when parking and use pay and display carparks where possible.
Event day logistics
09:00 Registration opens
Wave start times will be confirmed in your final instructions 10 days before the event as they are dependant on the tides.
Cut-Off Times
Sprint - You have 45 minutes to complete your swim and exit transition; 1 hour and 35 minutes to complete your bike and exit transition; 1 hour to complete your run.
Standard - You have 1 hour and 5 minutes to complete your swim and exit transition; 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete your bike and exit transition; 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete your run.
Registration
Registration is located in Venue Cymru. Final instructions will be emailed 10 days before the event which will contain start times and information regarding registration.
Race packs
Race packs must be collected on the day of the event, nothing will be sent out.
In your race pack, you will receive:
- A bib number, to be worn on your front for the run section and on your back for the bike section.
- Bike Flag, peel the backing and secure to your bike seat post
- Transition security wristband, must be worn at all times to access transition before, during and after the race
- Colour coded swim hat, required
Age Requirements
- Sprint: Entrants must be 15 years of age or older to enter
- Standard: Entrants must be 17 years of age or older to enter
Transitions
Competitors should only bring equipment into the transition that will be used during the competition. A small soft-sided bag such as a rucksack may be used and remain in the transition area.

No, it is against the rules to use an E-bike or any power assisted bike.
Can I wear headphones at the LlandudnoTriathlon 2023?
The use of headphones including bone conduction headphones is not allowed, if you use them you will be disqualified.

You will find out your wave approximately 10 days before the event. Waves are determined by you predicted race time.
