The Turkey Trot 2023
Come and join Zig Zag at the exclusive venue at Suffolk Running Centre, Church Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP29 5AX
It's a seven-hour cut off, (if you start at 9am, and 5hour event if you start at 11am).
Your race, your pace, your distance!
This race offers you a number of distance choices - 5k, 10k, Half, Full or Ultra
This route is an out and back, making it a very social route.
The marathon will be two out and back loop. The half marathon will be one out and back and the 5k/10k will have turnaround points.
We will be utilising the Gallops Route (half marathon)
There will be an aid station of drinks and nibbles every 10k.
Parking is also included in your entry price.
The Race HQ/Base Camp is located at the start and Lap point and at the base camp we will have our water/aid station.
Upon entry you will receive an email confirmation from your entry portal and Zig Zag Running. This will also contain the link to the race briefing information pack.
We have designed a Bespoke medal for the event, which you will receive at the end of the race. Or if you choose the lucky dip finisher option (if available), you will choose from a selection of previous or finisher medal.
Please note the event has gone cupless - so please bring your own bottles or cups for refilling.
Whether you are looking to run your 1st 10k, or your 50th Marathon, the brilliant Zig Zag Running team will cheer you all the way around. This event is ideal for those looking to achieve marathon distance, or even wanting to push a little further to a possible ultra.

Participants have the choice to start their race at 9 am or 11 am. It's a seven-hour cut off event, (if you start at 9am, and 5hour event if you start at 11am).
Race Packs
Race bibs will be collected on the day from registration.
Age Restrictions
All entrants must be 18 and older to enter the event.
Water/Aid Station
There will be a water/aid station at Race HQ, which will be situated at the start and lap point of the route.
Lucky Dip Medal
The lucky dip medal gives runners a chance of receiving a previous Zig Zag Events medal for a slightly reduced cost. This can be chosen when registering and ensures a little surprise on event day.
Cupless Event
Please note the event has gone cupless, so please bring your own water bottle to the event.
FAQs
How long do I have to run the Turkey Trot?
If you start at 9am, you'll have 7 hours to complete your chosen distance. If you start at 11am you'll have 5 hours to complete your chosen distance.
What qualifies me to run as an affiliated candidate at the Turkey Trot?
Participants must be affiliated with a EA/UKA club and have an EA/UKA number to qualify as an affiliated candidate.
Is there a minimum age I have to be to participate in the Turkey Trot?
Yes, all participants must be 18 and over.
