Upton Ultra

This 50k ultra travels north out of Fish Meadow along the River Severn until it cuts south west to the Victorian Spa Town of Great Malvern, from here it ascends onto the scenic Malvern Hills and along the ridge-line, giving spectacular views of the surrounding area and reaching the highest point of 425m at the Worcestershire Beacon.

Participants will then descend onto Castle Morton and head east back onto the River Severn, then north along the river, completing the loop back to Fish Meadow with a total distance of around 50k and 1000m ascent.

The route is a mixture of established national trails, bridal ways, foot paths, river banks and connecting tarmac roads. Each stage offers a diverse range of environments, from open hills, grassy meadows, sprawling commons, wooded paths and expanses of flood plain.
