Velio Festival

Welcome to the very first Velio Festival, located at the beautiful Cholmondeley Castle, in the Cheshire countryside. The festival will be Velio's annual celebration of life on two wheels, a world-first cycling and activity festival experience. Alongside some pretty amazing people, the organisers have created a packed festival programme whether you’re a cyclist or just want to come, switch off and enjoy the festivities for a few days.

The rides are made up of 5 routes including 3k, 30k, 60k and 100k. Velio have also created the 14k Velutopia. There are routes for beginners to the experienced, as well as disabled cycling and kids.

The 3k internal cycling track is included in your Festival Entry and can be ridden as many times as you wish throughout your stay.

The Velutopia is included in your Festival Entry and you can ride it once a day. The Velutopia is a new type of cycling, the 14k route is filled with entertainment on completely closed roads. There will be finish line parties, live commentary, party pit stop zones and a spectator’s podium.

You will be able to choose when to book your Velutopia ride when the options are released closer to the event.

The additional rides are available at a supplementary fee and take place on both Saturday and Sunday. The 100k will set off first thing in the morning, followed by the 60k and then the 30k.

This route is for anyone, but open to beginner riders. On both days it is expected to take a beginner rider between 90 and 120 minutes to complete the course. The route will be flat and with 1 party pit stop with entertainment, toilets and refreshments. The route will be different on both days, so don't worry about taking on the same distance twice!

The 30k routes are for people age 15 and over. Children 12 years and over may accompany a parent on this ride.

This route is aimed at intermediate riders, and it is expected to take riders approximately 180 minutes to complete the course. The route will will have 2 party pit stops with entertainment, toilets and refreshments. The route will be different on both days, so don't worry about taking on the same distance twice!

The 60k routes are for people age 16 and over. Children 12 years and over may accompany a parent on this ride.

This is an advanced ride with 728 metres elevation on Saturday and 516 metres elevation on Sunday. It will take an intermediate/advanced rider around 4-5 hours to complete the course. The route will will have 3 party pit stops with entertainment, toilets and refreshments. The route will be different on both days, so don't worry about taking on the same distance twice!

The 100k routes are for people age 18 and over. Children 12 years and over may accompany a parent on this ride.

Velio love their music and comedy at Velio, so they have packed 5 stages of international acts, live music, DJs and comedy across the weekend. With an eclectic mix of bands, house, disco, funk, soul and jazz through the weekend and some secret performances waiting to be discovered. At Velio, they're all about the fun, not the finish line and their stages are no different!

Packed with the finest feasts and banquets you will find at any festival! From award winning chefs, unique dining experiences and long table banquets we have everything covered from a quick bite to a multi-course extravaganza. Local produce and local craft ales will be served alongside nations favourites and the event will cater for all dietary requirements. A fine coffee programme (of course!), wine bar (and tasting), cocktails, and the Great Feast Village to get together to celebrate great food in the picturesque location by the Cholmondeley lake.

Not leaving the little ones out, there is a full programme of kids comedy, music, games, activities and even a kids wellness programme, plenty to keep them happy all weekend.

Included in all weekend tickets, is camping for 3 days and 3 nights. As standard, you will have access to a very spacious campsite, with toilets and showers. If you would like the ease of not bringing and putting up a tent, at an extra cost, the event has pre-erected tents for you to choose from at the ticket check out. They range from 2-8 person tents and you can add optional airbeds and sleeping bags. Motorhomes and campervans are also welcomed at an additional fee.

After an extra special experience to look forward to? Look no further. This boutique village really is providing an extra level of luxury. Choose from a range of Bell, Lotus or Mahal Tents, 2 to 8 people. Memory foam mattresses, 13.5 tog duvet, 200 thread count linen, bedside lights and tables come standard with all tents and upgrades of electricity, toiletries, mirrors, towels + many more available. You will also have access to luxury showers & toilets and the pamper parlour with all your home comforts plus much more!

Everyone needs something to look forward to this summer, which is why Velio have created the first ‘Flexi-Distanced’ festival. This means they have all the measures and teams in place to run the event socially distanced or non socially distanced, whichever the guidelines dictate. So you can book in confidence and have something in the diary to look forward to. If Velio are directed they are unable to run socially distanced by the authorities at the time, everyone will be able to choose to keep hold of their ticket for the rearranged date, or get a full refund of the face value of the ticket and any extras like the boutique village, so you can book in confidence.
