Join the Hackney Moves Festival Weekend! 🎉

📅 Saturday, 17th May

🌟 Schools Challenge: Thousands of kids will take on a fun mile-long run! Volunteers will guide them, pump up the energy, and hand out well-earned rewards.

🏃‍♀️ Hackney 5K: A buzzing afternoon of running, jogging, and walking on Hackney Marshes (no road closures needed!). Volunteers will help with setup, marshalling, and, of course, cheering everyone on!

📅 Sunday, 18th May – Hackney Half Marathon

🔥 The big one! The 13.1-mile race kicks off at 09:00, bringing incredible energy to Hackney Marshes. Volunteers will welcome runners, support spectators, keep participants fueled at aid stations, and celebrate their finish with those all-important rewards!

Friday 16th May

Race Pack Collection

Shift Time: 15:00 - 19:00

Using iPad to issue race numbers and act as point of contact for general event information.

Saturday 17th May

Race Pack collection – Morning Shift

Shift Time: 08:00 - 13:00

Using iPad to issue race numbers and act as point of contact for general event information.

Race Pack collection – Afternoon Shift

Shift Time: 12:00 -17:00

Using iPad to issue race numbers and act as point of contact for general event information.

Schools Challenge Volunteers

Shift Time: 08:00 - 12:00

Seeing off runners and welcoming them back at start/finish line. Helping set up distribution area, handing out rewards items, and encouraging flow of on foot traffic.

5K - Start/Finish

Shift Time: 10:30 - 17:00

Crowd control at start and helping to ensure runners are in correct group according to bib colour Encouraging and supporting safe flow of participants at start and finish.

5K Rewards

Shift Time: 11:00 - 17:00

Helping set up distribution area, handing out rewards items, congratulating finishers and encouraging flow of on foot traffic after finish line.

5K Bag Drop

Shift Time: 10:30 - 16:30

Working within a team to check in participants bags.

Lead / Sweep Cyclist for Schools Challenge and 5K

Shift Time: 09:00 - 16:00

Leading the race, cycling ahead of the runners setting pace and assuring route is clear of spectators.

Sweep stays with participants at the rear of the event, supporting directions and safety all the way the finish
