It was fantasic, and good having pacers! The course is an out and back, the streets are clear for runners and the course is always lined by supporters, it's an amazing 10k

It's the only road race I've returned to, this year being my 3rd year. Love that its run locally for the community. Really friendly crowds and runners. I'll be back again in 2020

I love that its big enough to feel like a top end race withouth being over crowded or impersonal. Organised by local hospice (which I didnt know before) with profit going there. Listen to feedback and always try to give runners best experience.

Quite tough course first half, but much easier on way back. Loads of people come out and support. Well organised, and good set up on the day

Absolutely loved this 10k, fantastic atmosphere, lovely people and really well organised. I run with Sarah Powala and Jamie Strachen supporting Wakefield Hospice and Sarah's #10KADIM 10k a Day in May challenge. Maybe I'm a little biased as Wakefield is now my official 10K PB course !

I loved the course. Whilst it has hills it also has the downs. I found myself able to really push knowing that I’d have the ‘rest’ shortly after. A good challenge. Atmosphere was friendly with more people out on the course that I’d thought supporting to. All very clearly signed.

I’ve done the 10k over the last few years. It’s an undulating our and back route. Over the years I’ve been doing it, the event has got bigger and so have the crowds. Will be back again next year

This is a straight out and back route which I wouldn’t normally enjoy but because of the atmosphere between runners cheering each other on it actually works really well. We enter as a large group every year and always love it, organisation and atmosphere is superb.

It's always amazing and emotional and every year it gets bigger and better! Organised well and great mini run for the kids also!

The course is an out and back route, and whilst not flat, the first half tends to be inclines, but when you reach the turning point, you are at 5.5km and then pretty much all of the remaining route are downhill or flat making it easier when you find it harder to keep running!
It's a well organised event, with friendly staff and volunteers managing the process.
With a 2,000 field, its got a good atmosphere, without feeling swamped or like you are the only person running.

Was a very good relaxed 10k, very simple out and in undulating route. Wasn't super organised compared to some but no major issues

Did the race in 2019
The race day was badly organised, marshalls were not very helpful and lacked enthusiasm, The road signs were not clear. The race itself was a very poor experience for my son as it was too cluttered. Also making children run slightly uphill does tend to tire them out.I recommend that you run the 1k race first to keep everyones enthusiasm up. You also make sure all points are sign posted clearly. Overall I can only describe it as a jumbled mess and will not be returning to Wakefield to run any future 1ks.Also considering my son has run 1k races before the actual medal was very poor. The costs were more than some 1ks yet the prices lacked inspiration.I can only say it did not seem well thought out at all with the route for the 1k.
