The WW50 is a 50-mile foot race consisting of 5 x 10-mile loops on forest trails, entirely within Wendover woods. The course mixes some of the most enjoyable trail running to be found anywhere, with wide, soft trails including smooth descents and runnable climbs. These sections are contrasted with some much steeper ascents and descents scattered throughout the loop. Runners will work hard for a finish at this race which will also act as the fourth and final event in the 2018 50 mile slam.

Meet the organizer

First and foremost we are an ultra distance trail event organiser based in the UK. Our objective is to put on the best supported, most professionally and safely organised, runner orientated ultra distance trail races - anywhere. We have taken the things we liked from races we have been fortunate enough to run ourselves and added them to the trails that we love. Our aim is to provide the maximum level of support we can for runners over race weekend on the resources we have available. To be transparent. To be sustainable and reduce waste and environmental impact as much as we physically can. Our races all contain the same basic elements. 50 or 100 miles non-stop and on foot. 13 - 16 fully stocked aid stations over 100 miles (7 over 50), friendly and hugely enthusiastic volunteers and staff and medical support on hand at all times, up and down the course, throughout the race.

A very challenging but thoroughly enjoyable event. 5 x 10 mile loops with a 15 hour cutoff.10,000 feet of climb overall makes for a tough run, but the wonderful organisation and fantastically enthusiastic marshalls made the day a fantastic experience. I would thoroughly recommend this and other Centurion Running events.

It's 5 x10mile loops and very challenging, short steep hills in woods.

This is my first 50 Miler and what a challenge it turned out to be! I finished 14th place in 9hr 19 and was then handed a 20 winners voucher for M50 I was overjoyed! The course is runnable with long straights and winding paths with soft underfoot but beware of roots a mile before the mid course aid station. I could have run up most of the hills bar 2 monster ones after mile 3 and 9 if this was a 1 lap race! Best to do a recce of the course before the race so you know what to expect. I did just that to manage my expectation (to finish sub 10 hours). My previous experiences were mostly road marathons so learning to eat and drink whilst running, stopping at aid station for top ups, and pacing were entirely new!I have tried many trail shoes (Salomons, Inov8, Merrell, Adidas etc) and finally found the Cloud Adventure Peak, with sock like fit, fantastic grip, great tractions, light and just enough cushioned so you can still be in touch with the ground. In my diary to do this one again next year. Highly recommended!

This is a great 50 mile race carved out of a small woods. Hilly and steep, half of the course is downhill, which is nice. I like the laps, ticking them off until you don't have to do that bit again.
