Route information
The stunning Somerset coastline makes for an incredible route. Starting and finishing at the Grand Pier, runners make their way South past the SeaQuarium and in-land, uphill towards Weston General Hospital. Runners will then circle back towards the ocean run the final quarter of a mile out to sea at Weston's Grand Pier.
Participants must reach 10 miles by 13:00 in order to avoid the cut-off. If runners have not reached this point they will be turned around and allowed to finish the remainder of the course. Unfortunately this is strictly enforced because of the road closures.
The Community Mile is designed to encourage first-time runners, families, and friends to come together and challenge themselves to get active for a fitter, healthier life.
What's included
  • Finisher's Medal
  • Pacers and chip-timing
  • Aid stations along the route
  • Unique finish line out at sea

Did the Weston Super Half in 2019
Loved this run! The sun was shining and you could see right over to Wales. There was even a section running on the beach (hard sand though) and a great finish on the pier. It was really friendly, and there was plenty of space to get around people etc. Be warned, I didn't expect the hills around mile 10/11 ish, but it did mean a descent back to the seafront and the finish. Medal could be better :)!

A wonderful run, mixture of road, off road, beach. No steep climbs just gentle undulation. Marvelous finish on the pier. Well organised you will find this one of the nicest runs you will ever do

Hi guys! Can't wait to get out and running again for this race it's been far too long! What's the terrain like for this course? Is it on trail or on road? I've been a bit thrown by the coastal path description!

As I understand it, the majority is on road however the majority of the first mile is on the beach. It also looks fairly hilly at the beginning and at around mile 10 of the course. Looking forward to it too!

I'm trying to remember how much of it was on the beach...I think it was about a mile in each direction but it might have been a bit less...the sand that we were directed along was quite compact and so it probably only added a total of about 30secs - 1 minute onto my time. It is slightly hilly when you get off the beach for the first time and the hilliest bit is towards the end when you go past the beach in the other direction and follow the road up the hillside. It's not a flat half but I found it very enjoyable and would still recommend it.
