An open water swim in a sheltered area of the picturesque Bowleaze Cove, in Dorset, a ride through the lovely Dorset countryside, and and a run out through Waterside Holiday Park and on into a nature reserve for what is a most beautiful and calming run, before your last hill of the day back into Bowleaze Cove.

How to enter the Weymouth Classic & Sprint Triathlon

Weymouth Classic & Sprint Triathlon routes

A mass start 750m/1500m open water swim in the sheltered area of Bowleaze Covey, wetsuits are compulsory for the swim and expect surf if the wind is blowing our way.

A 20k/40k ride through the dorset countryside, heading out to Preston you will encounter Coombe Valley road, Broadmaine, Warmwell, Tadnoll, Crossways and Osmington Mills before returning in to town down the fast White Horse Hill section, be careful and check those brakes before you start!

5k/10k run leading you out through Waterside Holiday Park and on to Preston road you will follow the signs that take you in to the nature reserve for what is a most beautiful and calming run before making you run up the last hill of the day back in to Bowleaze Cove.

Event Details

What’s Included
Fully functioning café on site, a fun fair only a walk a way for the children and young at heart and a slipway where we can launch our safety craft.

Prizes for top 3 male and female finishers. Age group prizes also available.

Timing chips will be given at registration.
Raceday Logistics
Race registration and transition will open at approx 05:30 and close at 06:30 – you will need to bring your BTF cards as ID, if no card is produced you will be asked to pay the day membership fee of £5 – Once transition has closed there will be a race brief at 06:45 and the Classic race will start as close to 07:00 as possible, The Sprint will start as close to 08:00 as possible.
Kit List

Wetsuits compulsory

The secure transition area is only a matter of 200m from the beach exit and less than 20m away from the competitors car parking. For those waiting for their loved ones on race day, Bowleaze Cove is a beautiful place to sit and relax, enjoy the views and grab a coffee or breakfast from the café.
