This is a 6 hour timed multi-lap event. Each lap being approximately 3.8 miles. The trail is a mixture or road and trail paths. 4 laps for a half marathon, 7 for a marathon, and 9 for an Ultra. Set in the stunning scenery of Stansted House with the kind permission of the Estate and Events team at Stansted House, and the landowners surrounding the estate.

At the end of each lap our aid station will be stocked with all the goodies runners like: water, squash, jelly babies, Haribo, crisps and cakes. All the things required to help set you off for another lap or two, or if you prefer you can ring the bell to officially finish your run and collect your medal.

Why Not Run route

The course is a mixture of road and trail paths, so shoes will be very much subject to the weather leading up to the event.

The route will take you from the field at the front of the house up the road, and round, before turning right onto a trail path, and then left to Racton Ruin, which will be the turn point on this out and back route.

FAQs

Can I run with my dog?

Sorry dogs are not allowed to run with you in the event.  Our events are insured via UK Athletics, who recently banned dogs running with entrants.

Can I leave my own food & drink at the aid station?

Yes of course you can.  Some runners like to have their own special sports drinks and energy gels or bars during events and these can be left at the aid station.  We recommend you place them in a container clearly labelled with your name and we are not able to take responsibility for left items.

All race numbers will be collected on the day and race information will be issued to the email address you registered with and will also be available on our website.

Please arrive in good time, and there will be a full briefing at 9.20 before the race starting at 9.30.

Please bring your registration email with you, so that we can check you in quickly for the event.

As this is a timed event in the middle of summer (All be it the British Summer), please dress appropriately, and for eventualities.

First time running with On The Whistle and really enjoyed this lap event. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and lots of encouragements along the way as you keep passing people of the laps. Will definitely return .

    Did the 6 Hour Challenge (3.8 Mile/Lap) in 2019

My longest run to date 19.25 miles and used for Marathon training. Had to top up after lap 5 as the distance wasn’t 3.8 miles, but wasn’t really a problem. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and friendliness at this event. Will definitely do this again next year!
