Route information
Long Route
Distance: 110km
Elevation: 1750m
Percentage of Route Off Road: 50%
Starting in Freshwater, riders start with a punchy 20k straight out of town into 3 off-road climbs towards Newport. Here, riders can enjoy a feed stop before rolling across gravel and backroads and tackling the toughest climb of the day around Ventnor - the first at 1.3k and averaging 10%, the other 3.4k at 4%.
The final 25k takes riders north along the west coast and it's here you can relax along the mostly downhill sections before one last climb into Freshwater.
Medium Route
Distance: 70km
Elevation: 1250m
Percentage of Route Off Road: 50%
Following the long route for the first 20k, riders will skip the eastern loop and head south towards Ventnor for the first big climbs. Next a quick 25k will take riders along the west coast home.
Short Route
Distance: 52km
Elevation: 1050m
Percentage of Route Off Road: 60%
A stunning and varied 50k option. The route follows the long course for 20km towards Newport and then heads back to the west coast along different gravel trails before hitting the coastal roads near the end. Rolling throughout, this is a relatively short ride but definitely packs a punch.
