Route information
Wild Tri:
This is the perfect race for those who are looking for a challenging course, yet also new to the sport. It will provide the ideal opportunity to get a real flavour of wild sports. Further details can be found below:
9k Cycle: This stage includes 2.5km of off-road riding and gravel tracks, with the rest of the rout taking place on quiet country lanes or the traffic-free cycleway. This is ideal for enjoying off-road biking, but with no chance of getting lost.
6k Run: Once you've parked your bike, the run will take you right around the picturesque Meldon Reservoir.
Gorge Scramble: Now for a real taste of the wild and a chance to cool off. Athletes will have to scramble their way up through the gorge and its stunning natural pools.
1k Run: A quick dash back uphill to collect your bike.
6k Cycle: The final leg, were a well-earned shower and medal awaits you.
Wild Tri Extreme:
Now for a real taste of the Devon Experience and a truly formidable route. With nearly 50% of the biking off-road, this terrain is generally much more wild than the Wild Tri route.
26k Cycle: The first stage of the event sees you take on a considerable cycle around the edge of Meldon Reservoir with some serious climbs and downhills throughout.
12.5k Run: This challenging route will take you across rocky terrain and will often be boggy underfoot. It also includes an ascent of one of Dartmoor's highest Tors.

Car:** Simmons Park has a limited number of parking available. As such, the organiser advises that you park at Mill Road Car Park (EX20 1PR) which is around a 5 minute walk to Simmons Park. Please note, this car park is pay & display.

Start times will be confirmed 4 weeks before the event. They will be waved starts, with groups of 20 going every 20 minutes.

What is the charity ticket option?
The charity ticket has a reduced entrance fee of £30 and £45 for the Wild Tri and Wild Tri extreme respectively. By choosing this option you are pledging to fundraise an additional £95.

To put into perspective how valuable your contributions are, here is some more detail on the affect it could have:
£50 - could pay for a visit to a patient's home by on of Hospiscare's specialist nurses
£100 - could cover the costs of two Hospiscare at home visits
£150 - could cover four hours of bereavement support
£650 - could pay for a 24 hour stay on the ward at Searle House
Will there be a bag drop available?
There will be 3 separate bag drops during the race to ensure that you have everything you need at each stage.
Drop 1: At the finish - towel, change of clothes, shoes
Drop 2: Option - for those changing from cycling to running gear
Drop 3: Gorge Scramble - for items like phones or watches
How are start times allocated?
All start times will be allocated at random once you've entered the race.
How long do the Wild Tri challenges take?
The Wild Tri will take around 4 hours and the Wild Tri Extreme could take up to 6 hours.
Will there be toilets onsite?
Yes, toilets will be available to use at the event area as well as at Meldon Reservoir - the transition between the bike stage and run.
