Winchester Half Marathon routes

Start: On the High Street outside the Guildhall in Winchester centre

This is a scenic route through the surrounding countryside, and passes historic sites such as St Catherine's Hill, Winchester Cathedral, and King Alfred the Great's Monument.

Heading through the Romsey Road and Sparsholt Road you will head out into the wonderful countryside of Winchester. You will then snake your way back to the Guildhall for a spectacular Finish.

Raceday Logistics

If you have not opted for your race number to be mailed to you, it can be collected from Winchester Guildhall Reception on Saturday 19th from 11am-1pm, and at Bapsy Hall on Sunday morning.

Come to the Winchester half ready to race! and don't forget to bring some warm kit to wear after!


The best hotspots for spectators are surrounding Winchester Guildhall, for the start and finish line. There will be entertainment and an exciting buzz. You are encouraged to support at any point on the course with a cheer and a wave.

Can I wear earphones or use an ipod?

If you're aiming for a prize there is a no headphone rule, otherwise feel free to bop along to your favourite tunes.

Are there any refreshments?

Being in the centre of town we are lucky enough to be surrounded by great coffee shops and other conveniences, we would recommend supporting local if you can!

Where are the drinks stations?

There will be four water stations along mile 3.56.0, 8.511.5

Are there toilets on route?

There will be toilets at the water stations on the route.

Can I change my race place with a friend?

Sadly, you cannot exchange your place. Your number is assigned to you with your individual medical details.

Where can I leave my baggage?

At the Guildhall there is a baggage drop area. Your bag must be clearly labeled with the Winchester Half Baggage label, with your race number on it. Baggage drop will be open from 8am on race day.

Where do I get my results?

Your results will be uploaded on the event website
