Start in the centre of Winchester and head out to explore the surrounding countryside. With plenty of iconic landmarks along the way, this is an excellent course for runners of all levels and there's a fun family friendly atmosphere to go with it.

Route description
Start: On the High Street outside the Guildhall in Winchester centre
This is a scenic route through the surrounding countryside, and passes historic sites such as St Catherine's Hill, Winchester Cathedral, and King Alfred the Great's Monument.
Heading through the Romsey Road and Sparsholt Road you will head out into the wonderful countryside of Winchester. You will then snake your way back to the Guildhall for a spectacular Finish.
If you have not opted for your race number to be mailed to you, it can be collected from Winchester Guildhall Reception on Saturday 19th from 11am-1pm, and at Bapsy Hall on Sunday morning.
- 08:00 - Race Village open
- 09:45 - Warm up
- 10:00 - Half Marathon starts
- 12:30 - Half Marathon prize giving
- 14:00 - Mile Fun Run starts
The best hotspots for spectators are surrounding Winchester Guildhall, for the start and finish line. There will be entertainment and an exciting buzz. You are encouraged to support at any point on the course with a cheer and a wave.
Over 350 people volunteer as WIN City Marshals, including managing the baggage hall, water stations, and the finish line. Get directionsPublic Transport:
Buses – It couldn't be easier to get into the town centre just hop onto one of the BLUESTAR or STAGECOACH buses headed towards the city centre.
Train – The best station to hop off at is Winchester.
Park And Ride:
If you want to drive we recommend Barfield Park & Ride (SO23 9SQ) – the bus will not be in service but it’s a short walk to the start line!
