Route description

Kicking off early in South London, you’ll set off in staggered start waves for a stunning 100km route designed by Andy Cook Cycling. You’ll pedal along quiet country roads and see South East England like never before.

The 100km route, while not yet finalised, will include three feed stations, one of which includes a delicious buffet lunch.

The route will be clearly signposted and fully marshalled, so there is no chance of you getting lost.

The finalised route will be sent to all participants once it has been confirmed.

Sponsorship Funding:

Participants pay a non-refundable registration fee of £45 which is used to secure your place on the event. You then are asked to raise a minimum of £100 for the Women V Cancer charities. There is no fundraising deadline, just that you must pay your funds in before the JustGiving page you use to fundraise closes, which is three months after the event.

FAQ
How much money do I have to raise?
To take part in the London to Brighton Bike Ride, you are asked to raise a minimum of £100 per rider. This can make a real difference for people affected by breast, ovarian and cervical cancers. £150 would fund Jo’s “Ask the Expert” service for a day, buy a bottle of serum for Ovarian Cancer Action’s scientists to culture cells in the lab and enable Breast Cancer Now to send out 500 leaflets to doctor surgeries in the UK promoting breast checking and highlighting the symptoms of breast cancer, so that more women can catch it early before it spreads. £500 will educate over 1,000 women, including those in high risk groups, about ovarian and cervical cancers and their symptoms, while £1,000 could enable OCA scientists to detect the types of DNA at high risk of ovarian cancer and fund two specialist nurses on the Breast Cancer Now helpline for a day, while also funding the recruitment and training of one volunteer for Jo’s helpline, who will go on to support hundreds of women per year. The more money you raise on this challenge, the higher percentage of that money will go directly towards the charities – and the bigger impact you will make in the mission against cancer. If you raise £500 or more by Friday 4th June, you will get a free official 500 club cycling jersey.
FAQ
How do I set up a fundraising page?
It's as easy as setting up a JustGiving page! Follow this link to set it up: https://www.justgiving.com/womenvcancer-LondontoBrighton
FAQ
What if I want to fundraise with someone else?
No problem, set up your joint JustGiving account that covers two or more people, and email the link to [email protected] and the full names of the people on the page.
FAQ
Which charities will the Women V Cancer London to Brighton Bike Ride be supporting?
This challenge supports the three incredible charities Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust, Ovarian Cancer Action and Breast Cancer Now.
