Route description
Route description

Both out and back routes, the races start at the old station where stone was loaded from Dayhouse Quarry, now the National Activity and Diving Centre.

From here, the route heads towards Tiltern, along the new Wye Valley Greenway. The first kilometre takes runners along freshly laid forest track, ensuring a flat and fast start to your run.

Next is the Tidenham Tunnel, a 1.1k long lit tunnel, but give your eyes a second to adjust to the different light levels!

Once through the tunnel, runners will run along a hillside path above the River Wye. Perfect for some beautiful views through the trees, the 5k runners will turn around just 500m from the exit while 10k runners continue on.

The newly-laid forest track ends 3.k from the start of the race, and changes to older forest track. With deep cuttings and a couple of bridges over the streams, the charm of the route remains as you approach Tintern Abbey and sneak a peek through the trees.

5k and 10k runner retrace their steps back to the quarry station to finish under the Relish Running finish gantry to collect your medal and tasty treats!
