How far is the race?

You decide! The 3.3-mile off-road loop means your race can be just over 5k or even over 60k. You decide how many laps you're going to do on the day within the 6-hour time limit. If you're looking to cover a marathon distance, you'll need to complete 8 laps (26.4 miles) and a half marathon will be 4 laps (13.2 miles).

Yeti Challenge route

The course is lumpy and has a few areas with ups and downs on grassy surfaces. If there has been lots of rain, these areas will be muddy. There are large periods on flat tarmac as well, making this a very runnable course.

Big Bear Events are ranked #8 in the UK out of 328 organizers

The majority of our events are challenge events - multi-lap races with a time limit rather than a set distance. This means people can run all different distances on the same day, making for a great atmosphere. Lapped events can get some negative feedback but our laps are around beautiful locations. We avoid out and back laps and coming back to the wonderful aid station (full of your requests) can be a good motivator. Whether it's your A race, you need to do some long training runs, you have a 100-mile ultra in a few weeks or you want to hammer out a quick 10k, our races allow everyone to get involved together. We’re also expanding our mid-week evening 10K series too. Keep an eye out for updates on these as we are continually adding more. Expect the same care and attention and in the same great locations!

This was my first big bear event and despite it being the most horrendous weather I had the best day. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and there was a fantastic selection of snacks which always makes me happy! I'll look forward to joining you again in Febuary. Thanks for a great day!

Despite appalling weather, the course is lovely and varied, so does not get repetitive. The marshals and feed station crew are amazing, friendly and helpful, when they must have been frozen. I would thoroughly recommend this event to go further in a non competitive environment, where speed really does not matter

No such thing as bad weather, just bad gear. I had a blast today for my first BBE and shattered my distance record of three laps. The organization of this event was top notch. I LOVED having my name called out after each lap with drink and snacks at the ready. All the runners were so encouraging. Thanks to all the volunteers who worked hard in the frigid rain and for making this a one-of-a-kind experience.

My first time with BigBear and i was a tad nervous by the 6hr thing but i shouldn't of worried, it was very friendly all round, organisers, volunteers and fellow competitors. you chose when to stop and for me 4 laps was enough in what was very wet and challenging conditions thanks to all the rain we've had. Very well stocked aid station, lovely medal and extras. Everyone received the same warm welcome from the team on stopping and it was really lovely. Don't hesitate to enter you wont regret it.

This was my first big bear event and certainly will not be the last.
It was well organised, the course was well signed and the route was very scenic (considering the horrific weather). It wasn’t overly crowded meaning it had a nice relaxed atmosphere and there’s no pressure on pace or distance, you can literally do what you want to do in 6 hours (great if you’re training for something or want to see what your capable of without committing to a set distance). The feed station - oh my days that was fantastic ; water, squash, Coke, sweets, banana, pizza, and oranges etc. The volunteers and organisers were really friendly and welcoming. The finish medal, beer and flap jack, were awesome, the medal was very quirky and unique. It’s nice to have something like a beer and flapjack as opposed to the random stuff you get a big events.
As someone who works weekends it’s great to have an event I can participate in without having to book annual leave.
I would recommend big bear events!!

Another BBE ticked off and as always they are well organised and exceptionally friendly. Paul and his team have a winning formula and are very supportive despite the wet and cold conditions. The aid stations are amazing catering for all needs, the mince pie on my 5th lap hit the mark! The course was very picturesque although very wet today making it a little challenging at times. I can’t recommend BBE enough.

Superb day with Big Bear again. The course is beautiful and varied, even the rain didn't take the smiles off our faces. Perfectly organised, great communication and really good value.

Loved my first Big Bear event, despite the horrendous rain today and inevitable mud. Thanks to Paul and volunteers for putting on an amazing event. I will definitely be back for another one

Another amazing day hosted by Big Bear Events. There was mud and there was rain and lots of it but there was such an incredible atmosphere and sense of camaraderie that I didn't really notice the rain and mud. I met old friends and made new ones all in the space of a run that had no distance or time pressures. Amazing day with amazing people. Really do recommend these events they are just fabulous and fun
