Route information
This unique Wild Running Yoga Retreat is the perfect event for any yoga and running enthusiasts. With multiple runs and yoga classes, as well as plenty of time to relax and enjoy the stunning location, this weekend can be enjoyed by all.
Yoga will be led by the qualified Hatha yoga expert and fitness trainer Zoe Drake, where there will be a minimum of 2 yoga sessions a day.
There will also experienced trail and fell runners who will guide the runs, and optional navigational workshops and route planning for those who want it.
Bala Brook
Situated in Dartmoor National Park, Bala Brook is on the edge of an open moor. The centre has 35 acres of stunning gardens, fields, oak trees and woodland, as well as the iconic brook running through it, which joins onto the River Avon.
Those staying can enjoy a peaceful walk in the gardens, or take a quick dip in the the brook under waterfalls.
The centre itself can sleep up to 14 people in individual rooms, however if you would like to share that can be arranged. There is a yoga and meditation studio with underfloor heating, foam mats, bolsters, and blankets.
For the avid readers in the group, there is a library for you to get tucked away in a good book, as well as an open plan kitchen and a dining room.
The centre is also accessible for those with disabilities.

By Car
Those driving south from Exeter should leave A38 at Marley Head (northeast of South Brent), and head north-west following signs for Avon Dam. Here, entrants will arrive at Shipley Bridge carpark. At Shipley Bridge, cross the River Avon, following the lane turning to the left, over a cattle grid.
A little down the lane, head past the farm on your right, and look for the 'Bala Brook' sign on your right beside a timber gateway.
Those driving from Plymouth should leave the A38 at the exit towards South Brent. Then, merge onto the B3372, and take a slight right onto New Orchard (South Brent). Then turn left towards Aish Lane, right onto Aish Lane, and left before reaching Shipley Bridge.
Do not use the Bala Brook postcode as it is shared with other locations. Use these co-ordinates instead.

Transfers
It can be arranged that entrants are picked up from Ivybridge or Totnes, as well as pick-up from Totnes Train Station however there will be a small £10 charge for this.

Catering
Catering will be provided at the retreat by Dartmoor Larder, who are a locally-sourced, vegan-based cuisine. The food regularly receives 4 stars, and in addition to the wonderful food, former chef Sandy will be giving talks on nutrition.
Evening meals can be enjoyed around the table with your fellow guests.
Sandy can also cater for any dietary requirements that you may have. Please just make us aware of your dietary needs at least 1 week prior to your escape.
