Road Cycling Events
Road Cycling is growing in popularity in the UK, with over 2,200 registered cycling clubs and 125,000 registered members of British Cycling. In the UK, people have been inspired to take up the sport by high profile cyclists achieving great things, from the sprints of Mark Cavendish, to the Olympic heroics of Bradley Wiggins, to the recent Tour de France triumphs of Chris Froome and Geraint Thomas. There a range of events on offer, including numerous charity and community bike rides, which allow cyclists of any ability to get involved. Sportives (mass participation cycling events) are the most popular format, and can range from sprint distances to long-distance formats. Another option is doing an Audax event, which are long-distance cycling events within a limited time-frame. Cycling is known for its friendly community, and they are always encouraging new people to get involved with the support, whether that's providing advice for kit, organising training clubs, or supporting you through your first event.

About Road Cycling in the UK
