The ever popular Ipswich 5k Summer Series. This is the second race in the series which features an undulating two lap course in Christchurch Park. Runners of all standards are welcome, including beginners, and there will be a medal and finish line goodies for all finishers.

You can enter a single race, or purchase a three race or four race season ticket. The series comprises four 5K races. Points scored in your best three races count towards overall Series prizes (first 100 male and female finishers in each race score points).

There will be prizes for race winners and winners of vet categories, plus team prizes and a special series prize for 1st Male and 1st Female.

Harwich Runners 5K Series – Run 2

The Harwich Runners 5k Series will be run on a Tuesday evening and race HQ is the Harwich Rugby Club

The handicap is based on 40 minutes - so if you think it will take you 30 minutes you will have a handicap of 10 minutes and start at 8:10pm, 20 miniute 5k will have a handicap of 20 minutes and start at 8:20 and so on. The idea being that everyone should finish close together. Handicaps are adjusted as you get quicker and by the end of the series many will have improved their 5k PB.

The Harwich Runners 5k Series will be run on a Tuesday evening and race HQ is the Harwich Rugby Club

Whether you’re completely new to running or just getting back into the swing of things, we’ve got some great race recommendations to get you started. Chosen by our team, these are some of our favourite events for first-timers. 5k races & 10k races are perfect for beginners, they tend to be relatively flat (always check the elevation just in case) and there’ll usually be a great crowd to cheer you on.

Find the right running event for you

To keep motivated try to run with friends and to organise a race a few months away as something to work towards. Running as a sport is very inclusive, people love to chat and give a boost to those around them! Practice makes perfect so with the right training you can achieve anything. Start small and it won’t be long before you’re a total professional tackling the bigger races.
