**NEW FOR 2018**
Welcome to the Aviemore Triathlon - an exciting, challenging, fun, and a little bit bonkers off-road Swim + Mountain Bike + Trail Run race.
There are two courses to suit all abilities from newcomers to racing snakes. Both are based on the beautiful Loch Morlich and Glenmore Forest in the heart of the spectacular Cairngorm National Park.
Long Hard Durty: 1500m Open Water Swim, 18km Technical Mountain Bike, 9km Trail Run -
Short Fast Durty: 750m Open Water Swim, 12km Mountain Bike, 5km Trail Run.
The event is also helping to raise money for the Badaguish Centre (Race HQ, Transition 2 and the Finish are located here) to help people with a disability enjoy an outdoor holiday. We strongly encourage participants to raise funds through sponsorship or donation for this amazing place, doing amazing work.
The usual Borders and Bridges Trophy will be awarded to the fastest club over the Borders and Bridges course, based on the cumulative time of the first 3 individual finishers from that club. The lower reaches of the Tweed provide an impressive back drop for this new event. Berwicks unique and historic environment, spanning both sides of the border, is a great place to explore by bike and the nature of the border crossings along the bike and run routes create a memorable platform for the event.
The Swan Leisure Centre swimming pool, Berwick-upon-Tweed, is the venue for the swim. Starting order will be dictated in waves based on submitted estimated swim times for that distance.
The bike route is a single loop, taking in 3 bridges and 2 border crossings before heading back to the Swan Centre for T2.
The single loop run takes you through Tweedmouth and along to the docks, crossing the Tweed at the Old Bridge, yielding great views of the iconic Royal Border Bridge and the famous River Tweed below. From here the run takes you on to the medieval ramparts for a circuit around the Berwick Walls then, once again crossing Berwick Old Bridge. After returning over the Old Bridge runners will then head back to the Swan Centre and the finish line. Note that the last 1km follows a different route to that used on the first 1km. Transition is sited in the car park adjacent to the pool.
The Stirling Triathlon is a fun but challenging event set in the grounds of one of Britain's most picturesque Universities.
There are three different adult events aimed at all abilities and levels of fitness, from complete novice to club and elite triathletes, as well as charity and fun competitors. There is also a separate event for juniors, allowing ages 8 and upwards to take part and join in the fun. All entrants will receive a goodie bag with race day mementoes!
