High Fell Events

Summer runners just look away now. This is a proper winter fell race where the conditions could vary from a lovely clear winters day to a howling wind with sleet and snow. To take this on we highly recommend that you have good fell running experience and that you can handle yourself in cold weather. In 2017 the weather was pretty kind with single figures at the cafe area and -7 C and sleet on the summit.

This is an ideal opportunity to take on an extreme event in the knowledge that a safety team will be on hand with specialist medics, atvs, 44s and personnel to keep an eye on you. Tents will line the route and a communications system allowing quick escalation procedures. All you need to do is get out there and run!

Cold. Wet. Dark. Theres something slightly mad about the mountain biker who takes on a 24 hour race. How about winter in Kielder to tickle your fancy? Solo, pairs or quads. This competitive event will give you the chance to keep your cycling mo-jo going and challenge yourself in what can be some severely testing conditions. Bring supporters or bring your team mates and spend the weekend out on the course as you summon up the strength of mind and body to keep going.

Thrunton Woods itself only allows a very small number of events to be hosted there so dont miss your chance to strap your shoes on here. Roots, rocks, mud and a good helping of prime Northumbrian bog awaits to test your physical and mental resolve. There may or may not be a special ending (wink wink) and there may or may not be an extra 2 miles on the overall distance (cough!).
