This is the 10th year of the Marlow Sprint & Olympic Distance Triathlon, consisting of a river swim, cycling and running. The event has attracted 1000s of participants over the year and is open to all levels of participant and encourages first time triathletes to the event.
The Swim course is in the River Thames. It is designed to make even the weakest swimmer get a fast swim split.
The Marlow Classic Half Iron Distance is the only long distance event in the Thames Valley and is a fairly flat scenic course taking in the views of Marlow and the surrounding areas.
The Bike course for the Sprint Distance is 24.5km & the Olympic Distance is 37km. It is an out and back course and only has two hills, but otherwise fast and flat.
The Run course for the Sprint Distance is a 1 Lap 5km route & the Olympic Distance is 2 Laps for a 10km. The course is on Tarmac and Grass Footpaths. It meanders back towards Marlow and into the finish at Higginson Park from the river tow path.
The event is set to attract over 700 participants, as the world of endurance sports and triathlon creates massive demand for longer distance events over the shorter distances that have originally formed this great sport.
This is a mass-start event. All finishing positions will be calculated based on gun time and not chip time. This is a non-draft legal race. The race starts and finishes in the same location at Stewartby Lake near Bedford. The race consists of an open water swim, an on-road bike leg and a run on paths.
This event is for athletes of all abilities.
tri for life presents The Woburn Abbey Triathlon, set in one of the most spectacular locations in Bedfordshire. One of the UKs most loved triathlons, it has become famed for its iconic venue and unrivalled family experience. Highlights of the event include stunning views of The Abbey and deer park, great event village and the stunning cycle route through the picturesque roads surrounding Woburn. Now in its 9th year, tri for life has raised over 2m for its charity partners. In 2016, we raised money for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital and Melanoma Focus.
2016 saw the event take a leap into becoming of the UKs largest triathlons with the event expanding to two days of racing and the introduction of a new half iron distance.
The race starts and finishes at The Barn Elms Sports Centre in Barnes, London situated on the backdrop River Thames.
Make sure you dont miss this opportunity of running through the streets of Putney & Fulham. The race start is 09:00 and is very accessible by car (car park onsite -first come first served basis) and public transport. The race has a great vibe and well supported by some local organizations.
All runners will receive a medal for finishing as well as loads of goodies at the finish including water, juices, fruit and a chocolate bar! We use the latest Chip Timing technology so you will get an accurate finishing time. The results are posted as soon as you cross the finish line! We will have a free baggage drop facility for you to use. This area will be cordoned off but we do advise against storing any valuables as we cant be held responsible.
If you want to get a personal best Half Marathon this should be the one - it is the flattest course in the UK!!! The race takes place on very flat, smooth tarmac roads and paths - completely traffic free, comprising of 4.5 loops of scenic Dorney Lake. Chip timing will be in operation for accurate splits and finish times.
Now in its sixth year, this winter gem is not to be missed!
Starting just south of Basingstoke, were perfectly set up for a great day in the saddle. After leaving the event centre, were quickly out into the countryside and enjoying a seasonal spin that should keep you warm in the December air! The route is mostly undulating and is one of the flatter rides of the series, but will still throw up a credible 4,600 ft of climbing (long route). Riders will head east and then south along quiet country lanes before skirting the South Downs for the return leg.
This ride is a fantastic opportunity to explore the Hampshire countryside and clock up some winter miles, all of course whilst getting in good stead for the festive period and year ahead.
With a 750m swim, a safe closed-roads 21.2km bike course followed by a 5km run course up and down the lake, this is probably the flattest triathlon in the UK.
This event is a qualifying race for the ETU Sprint Distance European Championships in 2020. The level of interest in competing for the Great Britain Age-Group team at ETU European Championships is higher than ever, so join fellow aspiring team members and race to earn the right to wear the Great Britain tri-suit.
If youd rather not pit yourself against the best of the triathlon field, just come down to race at the Eton Sprints Weekend against other like-minded triathletes on a fast, flat course with a great atmosphere.
