The Tour of Norland Moor is more like a trail race than a fell race and is a great introduction to fell running. All the hard work is done at the start as the race climbs up North Dean Road (a rough paved bridletrack). Starts/finishes from the excellent facilities of Copley Cricket Club. A 10k race with 270m climb. Minimum age 18 years. Category BM.

The Wetherby Run 10k has a relatively short history but it has become a firm favourite with runners from around the region and beyond. The date of the race suits those training for The Yorkshire Marathon in October or with the Great North Run in mind, as it offers a fast course on minor roads and well-surfaced tracks, mainly rural and scenic. Wetherby Racecourse. Also 5k option. (date tbc)

The best ideas are always the most simple! Start at the bottom of the hill and ride or run to the top. About 3 miles, or 5 kilometres_ lets just call it a long climb. The route follows the Kirklees Way, onto the Pennine Way, out onto the road at the top. First Wednesday of every month.

The first mention of Bramley comes in the Domesday Book compiled for William the Conqueror in 1086. The Bram part of the name occurs in several other Yorkshire village names such as Bramhope and Bramham. In Old English (the language of the Anglo-Saxons) it signifies the broom plant. Ley means a clearing. It would seem therefore that Bramley started out life as 'a clearing covered with broom'. In recent years the town has been referred to as the village that disappeared, the demolition of many historic buildings left many of the local residents unhappy, with a feeling of disappointment that the true character of the town had been lost forever. Despite the change in the buildings and appearance of the town what has remained is the true gritty character of genuine Yorkshire folk and the friendly feeling. Thas run thee 10K a Sit thissen Dahn

Littleborough is a place made for running and many do not realize some of the great runs that can be had around it. With this in mind, I have designed a fast and picturesque course that is run on good runnable roads, paths and some country lanes. The course, after the first start section, is on a small gradual decline in terms of elevation (see elevation chart). This makes the race feel downhill and makes for a really enjoyable running experience.

Holmfirth Harriers Athletic Club is proud to present the Holmfirth 15 and the Holmfirth 10Km.

2018 will recognize the 50th anniversary since the 15-mile race was first staged, so whether it is your first attempt at the distance, or you have run before, why not join us to celebrate this achievement.

It is interesting that the very first "The Suncharm 15" race promotion also included the inaugural Holmfirth open junior road races that were then moved to another date the following year.

The Northern Jumble- A great opportunity to build up the bling and take one of the bespoke medals designed for Its Grim Up North Running all for the bargain price of 10.

The lovely village of Slaithwaite provides the perfect setting for another out and back along the canal. The lovely mill town captures the North in every sense, friendly folk, beautiful hillsides and plenty of tea shops, what more could anyone ask for.

"Slaithwaite (pronounced 'slawit' or 'Slaithwaite' by locals) is a true "Yorkshire grit" mill town straddled by the viaduct and bisected by the canal. Slaithwaite retains its essential character, despite being used as the setting for the television series, "Where the Heart is" and for some of "Last of the Summer Wine". A lovely church, the fine 17th Century Dartmouth Estate Manor House, and other buildings dating from the 18th Century combine with large central mills to give quality to this industrial village that was once home to Luddites".
