    • Did the 13.1M run in 2019

Amazing race, massive improvement at the finish line doing the way out long enough for people to relax before getting to their family and friends (the same way like big marathon chicago example) Course excellent the only issue its for the 26.2 the last bridge its a killer lol

Nice race, the weather didnt help to de a better time. Apparently the course was longer than the 13,1 miles. But I general is an excellent race.

Weather in late January in Miami is a hit and miss. Race temperature can be perfect or it can also be too hot and humid. For the 2019 edition it was a bit on the hot and humid side, but not enough to prevent some good times. The first part of the race was slower due to a congested start out of the corrals, a long climb up the MacArthur Causeway bridge only a quarter of a mile in, and strong head winds a runners ran towards Miami Beach. The course on the beach is incredibly scenic and getting the sunrise while running Ocean Drive is memorable. The final leg of the Half Marathon is the only one where theres really any fan support. This happens after crossing the Venetian Causeway and getting back to downtown Miami. Miami could do a better job of getting out to the streets to support runners as the race has long stretches that feel too quiet for such a big city. The race is well organized, with plenty of drink stations along the course and a great ice towel at the end to cool off. Corrals could be better assigned. There were many slow runners at the front of the race that affected pace at the start of the run. All in all, its definitely a race worth running.
