What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

Race the Neighbours is North London's friendliest 10k race - with a little neighbourly rivalry for added spice! It's 10 stunning kilometres through East Finchley and Muswell Hill (most of the run is off road) and we have a warm community feel which has people running with us year after year.

This is Race the Neighbours' fourth glorious year, taking place on 1st July 2018, and once again starting and ending in our home turf of Cherry Tree Wood, N2. While we have an N2 v N10 competition, you don't need to be from Muswell Hill or East Finchley to enter, you just need to fancy a fun 10k run through our beautiful leafy suburbs.

Runners from all over North London (and a good few from further afield) have taken part in our first three events, with over 450 entering in 2017. This has led to huge interest for 2018, places are limited and filling quickly, so if you want to take part - book now!

After 14 years we are making some changes to the format of the classic South Downs Marathon Day. The routes of marathon and half marathon themselves remain unchanged but we are taking out the marathon relay and introducing a trail 10km in Queen Elizabeth Country Park.

Regrettably, the lack of safe parking at two of the relay changeovers make us believe the relay is unsafe as most cars arrive at the changeover points in the same time frame and it has become a hazard and probably an accident waiting to happen. To make up for the loss of this popular element of the marathon we have brought in a 10km route entirely within Queen Elizabeth Country Park that will cover the first 2.5 miles of the half marathon route, divert on the Staunton Way and rejoin the return section of both the marathon and half marathon on the South Downs Way at the Buriton car park entrance.

"The Secret Prosecco Dash!" Is a tantalising summer event where you combine legging it from point to point and drinking Prosecco, whilst seeing some of London's most beautiful places.

With Prosecco pre, during and post race, the event features an optional 5k/10k route and takes place on Saturday June 16th in one of London's coolest neighbourhoods.

This is NOT the race to get a 10k/5k personal best time, more of an interactive event where its team vs team, all in order to battle out who can become Prosecco Champions!

The 'Marathon of the Coast' is run from St Dogmaels on the North Pembrokeshire / Ceredigion border and takes in the entire 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path (The UKs only coastal National Park) and finishes at Amroth on the South Pembrokeshire / Carmarthenshire border.

The path is made up mainly of rugged uneven ground which covers a diverse route that will see you run high along open and exposed sea cliffs as well as underneath them at sea level as you pass through the numerous fishing hamlets, villages and towns as well as taking you through some of the most iconic and historic locations in Wales.

The course is visually stunning and due to the nature of the terrain and the elevation loss and gain being over 30,000ft it is also one of the most difficult you will run anywhere in the world. This really is a bucket list run!
