What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

The Dart Dart Dash, a 10K night race around the woods of Dartington, is back for its 4th year.. A great warm up race for the Wild Night Run in Feb. By popular demand weve also added a 5K version open to anyone over 12!

The terrain is less challenging than the Wild Night Run and if youre new to night running, this race is an ideal introduction. Ultramarathon events in Exeter

The Ultra Tour of Dartmoor (U.T.D) is set to become a classic. It has been in the planning for almost two years. It has finally come to fruition, and with the creation of this unique event we believe we have the most exciting new ultra distance race in the country. The brief was to create the most challenging and adventurous way to circumnavigate the Moor within a 100 mile event. A complete tour, encompassing as many wild and not-to-be-missed places as possible, a landscape steeped in myths and legend.

The Ultra Tour of Dartmoor visits a myriad of Moorland landmarks, picture-postcard villages and crosses an intense diversity of terrain, from its wild remote heart to the satellite leafy woodland glades and meandering riverside trails of its outer edges.

With the Dartmoor 100 and Dartmoor Granite 50, we wanted to create something very special for ultra-distance runners, and we wanted to do it the right way. A way that was true to ourselves primarily as runners and secondly as race organisers. Our take on it was that there had to be a purpose, an end-game. Not simply to run 100 miles. Starting a long race needs a motivation, an incentive. Its a journey of discovery.. an adventure.! The motivation, we believe, would not merely be in the running but also in that journey. The reward would be in the discovery and the adventure of touring the whole of Dartmoor the last wild place in Southern England.
