Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

10k Races in Kirkwall May 2018

Though the Road to the Isles half marathon is a challenging road race, it is the scenery that will really take your breath away on this route. Every year, runners return to enjoy the beauty of the west coast and the friendly atmosphere at the finish line. The half marathon starts at Beasdale Station and follows the old Road to the Isles through Arisaig, Traigh - where the 10k will join in - and Morar into Mallaig, where the race finishes at Mallaig & District Swimming Pool. The undulating route provides an enjoyable challenge for all abilities and sights such as the Silver Sands of Morar will boost your morale all the way to the finish line. Water stations will be provided at three locations throughout the race.

We are looking forward to welcoming back many of you who have taken part over the past seven years to join in the celebrations, along with newcomers looking for a new challenge.

With spectacular coastal views and a brilliant atmosphere, although we cannot guarantee the weather, we can guarantee a superbly organised event with plenty of support on the route and an army of enthusiastic volunteers to make it a great day for all taking part. All participants will receive a t shirt, medal and goody bag. There is also limited parking, baggage services and plenty of fun activities for those not taking part.

Take part in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival and explore the beautiful views of Edinburgh. It will be held on 26/27th May and offers a marathon, half marathon, 10k and 5k.

The Edinburgh Marathon was voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World. Enjoy a fantastic all-encompassing route taking in some of Edinburghs most iconic landmarks as well as offering picturesque views along the East Lothian coastline.

Directly preceding the Marathon, the EMF Half follows the same fast and flat route, offering genuine PB potential. This increasingly popular race distance is a fantastic alternative for those that dont fancy the big 26.2.

The 10K & 5k fall on the Saturday of the Festival weekend and are run in the stunning surroundings of Holyrood Park. Starting and finishing near Dynamic Earth, this routes offer striking panoramic views of the city and Edinburgh Castle.

The Edinburgh Hopetoun House course is set within the beautiful estate of Scotlands finest stately home on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The route starts and finishes on the main drive up to Hopetoun House, leading participants around the picturesque estate. The route covers an area of outstanding natural beauty taking in views of the Forth including the road and rail bridges, set on both footpaths and grass areas.

The Stirling route is situated in the grounds of The University of Stirling. You will enjoy a mixture terrain including grass, pathways and a small hill towards the golf course. You will pass by the amazing Airthey Loch, taking in the view of the Wallace Monument, before heading towards the athletics track to finish.

Dont forget to bring along your friends and family for support and also to enjoy the various stalls that will be providing entertainment and refreshments.

Ultramarathon events in Kirkwall May 2018

An 8-day expedition race weaving through 400km of the the Highlands of Scotland. The race route is based on the Cape Wrath Trail, considered to be the toughest long distance backpacking trail in the UK. Starting in Fort William, the race takes competitors on an incredible journey linking ancient footpaths and remote tracks, to the furthest northwesterly point of the British Isles, Cape Wrath. With towering mountains on one side and the crashing ocean on the other, the route travels through stunning scenery and remote wilderness with every step North. Winding through the beautiful lochs, glens and mountains of the Scottish Highlands, this is an expedition through some of the World's most inspirational landscapes. 20-27 May 2018.

Cape Wrath Ultra

A simply breathtaking 74 miles route passing through some of the finest mountain ranges and coastal trails in the UK.

You can compete in this event without any support, we will ferry your drop off bags to the four CP's, you can include food,clothes,shoes etc,
any contents not used will be returned to race finish where you can collect them.

the route follows much of the stunning Trotternish Ridge,then passes between the jagged Black Cuillin and the less rugged Red Cuillin.
these are some of the finest mountains in the UK, there are rarely visited coastal cliffs,trails above steep drops and the haunting ruins of villages deserted at the time of the Highland clearances.
You can enter this race without the need for any support, we will ferry your drop bags, containing your food, to the 4 check points, any unused items in the bags will be returned to Race Control at Broadford. .....

Skye Trail Ultra

The SBU35 is 'as tough as you want it', a largely off-road, 36 mile (approx) ultra trail race. It follows a point to point route from the heart of the Lake District, on the shores of Bass Lake near Keswick, to the West coast village of St Bees. Between these two points, lay 36 'country miles' of some of the most beautiful country the Lake District has to offer. Everything about this event has been carefully considered to support new entrants, giving them a true appreciation of what ultra running is all about, whilst still giving experienced competitors the opportunity to show the rest of us what they can do!
