What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

Huddersfield 5k Park Series are new weekly 5k races run in July at the stunning Greenhead Park. The popular weekend parkrun regularly has 600 plus runners, so its the perfect venue to organize an accurately measured, UKA licensed, live chip timed 5k event series. The park itself is very easy to get to via the M62, or by bus or rail from all areas of the North West.

The Route is different than the weekend parkrun and contains fewer bends, twist and turns and for this reason we feel that the times will be much faster.

The races can be entered individually or you can enter all 4 races in the series (via the Series entry option). If you miss the series entry, then simply enter 3 from 4 of the races to qualify for the league. There are various prize options for both places and improvers in the league and superb individual and team prizes each race.
