What you need to know about Running

Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

10k Races in Oxford December 2018

Welcome to the 3rd Mapledurham Ten.

The inaugural event in December 2015 proved such a great hit, we simply had to bring it back again. The first of our winter trail running series, along side the fabulous Muddy Welly & Gut Buster events, the Mapledurham Ten takes in superb, but challenging, 10k & 10 Mile courses from the wonderful Mapledurham House near Caversham.

The Mapledurham Ten gives you a perfect challenge over either our 10k or 10 Mile courses. In typical My Sporting Times style, the courses will give you a mixture of surfaces to cover, most likely some mud and some ups and downs too.

The 10k and 10 Mile courses are the same until approx.1 Mile/1.6k when the 10k runners will split to the left. The courses will soon re-join and stick together until 6.5 Miles/6.5k. The courses ultimately re-join with 1 mile to go to the finish. Keep an eye out for signage for your distance and listen to the marshals! The courses are both multi terrain, with sections on footpaths and bridleways, woodland trails, private roads and country lanes. Road running shoes should be fine unless the weather is wet consistently wet in the build up.
