Running is the world’s most accessible sport. Park runs, colour runs, 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons and ultras — all you need is a pair of trainers and off you go. Running events are hugely popular on Let’s Do This and it’s a sociable sport, so get some friends involved and achieve something extraordinary.

If you’re starting small, the 5k and 10k events are great fun and definitely worth doing even if you’re training for a bigger challenge further down the line. Getting used to the atmosphere of an event is important. You’re so much more likely to hit a better time if there’s a crowd cheering you on, people in fancy dress and a big celebration at the finish line.

10k Races in Stoke September 2018

In 2017, DougieMac took on the organization of the iconic Stoke 10K. After an incredibly successful event, we are pleased to announce the event will return to Hanley Park on Sunday 2nd September.

The Stoke 10K is suitable for runners of all abilities, it is an electronic chipped timed event which gives a fantastic tour of the city which starts and finishes at Hanley Park. The course features a run through the city center as well as covering Leek Road, City Road, and Victoria Road as you head to the finish line.

Whilst the DougieMac Stoke 10K is no longer UKA affiliated due to the costs of affiliation, the event is officially measured as a 10K and is chip timed.

The course is completely closed to traffic and will use a professional traffic management company to fully close all roads and all our volunteer marshals are on hand to ensure we deliver a safe event for all runners.

Set within the vast acres of Rodbaston Hall & Equestrian Centre.

This is a great cross country course no off-road runner should miss. Rolling fields, woodland trails and there are even a few small obstacles to liven things up. Runners of all abilities welcomed.

5k Races in Stoke September 2018

A monthly, multi-terrain, flat 5k race in Buxton's Pavilion Gardens. These races are open to runners of all standards - the only qualification is that you must feel like running 5k on a Saturday morning! And registration is free! All races are held on the same course on the 2nd Saturday of the month.

A challenging and rewarding route starting and finishing on the Athletics Tracks at Macclesfield Leisure Centre, passing through Prestbury village and along the leafy back roads of East Cheshire.

If you are entering as part of a Community Team Challenge you can add that team name in addition to a running club.

The Macclesfield Half Marathon and 5K Community Team Challenge are open to all businesses, schools, charities, sports and recreational clubs. A team is made up of at least three finishers in the Macclesfield Half Marathon. There will be prizes for the top teams.
