10k Races in Sunderland

The 5k and 10k races start 10 minutes apart, facing each other across the the ancient Market square. 5k runners will set of first at 7.15pm, with the 10k runners following 10 minutes later. Whichever you elect for, you will finish at Palace Green in between the Cathedral and the Castle, following in the footsteps of pilgrims who have climbed the hill for almost a thousand years. With a little luck you may have produced youre own historical performance to match the surrounding splendour! All competitors have free access to the Durham City Park and Ride system so no need to worry about parking, you can run, recover and relax!

A challenging and beautiful trail 10k, taking the Trail Outlaws 10k events out of Sunderland to the nearby trails of County Durham. Set in a beautiful and historic area of the County, this 10k promises to be a must do event in the running calendar. Once you venture onto this route you will agree that it is one of the most beautiful. Starting in the village of Hawthorn, the route takes you through the Durham Wildlife Trust and National Trust managed woodland of Hawthorn Dene.
