Best moment for me was when I realised 45 minutes into the run that "fighting the mud" was much harder than just running through it! Running through the last deep strip of mud at the end was perfect!
I am always up for a challenge and trying new things especially if it supports and inspires community. I think it's important that black people in particular take up space and I'm always looking for ways to strengthen my muscle of being comfortable with being uncomfortable. A trail run in the forest mud is the perfect exercise for that muscle!
Trying to impress a guy (my now husband) but that's not what keeps me going today. It is the mental freeness and continuous lessons of progress that keep me running these days.
Running has taught me so many lessons about myself and about building community. I love that every run signifies progress and progress pushes limits and breaks barriers in life and in running!
