Truckee is one of those places that you'll want to live if you don't already. Noted by the editors of National Geographic Adventure as one of the worlds top ski towns, Truckee also offers those who love the mountains and outdoors with endless summer adventure opportunities.

Donner Lake is 2.7 miles long and 1/2 mile wide. The water is clear and clean with a maximum depth of 328 feet. West End Beach, operated by the Truckee Donner Recreation and Parks District, serves as the main venue. A sandy beach with majestic views of the surrounding Sierra Mountains awaits you.

Kendra’s Race – The UCSB TriathlonCampus Point, Santa Barbara, CA, USA

In 2006, after the death of their teammate and friend, Kendra Payne, the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Triathlon Team changed the name of their annual triathlon to Kendras Race. The race has been held every year since then and each year the UCSB triathlon team generously donates a portion of the entrance fees to the Kendra Chiota Payne Memorial Fund.

Superseal Olympic & Sprint TriathlonCoronado, California, US

The SuperSEAL Olympic triathlon and the SEAL Sprint triathlon are are held on the same day. The SuperSEAL athletes begin in earlier swim waves, followed by the SEAL Sprint athletes, and both groups race on the same course on the same day.

This much-loved local race takes place on Coronado, California's famous Silver Strand State Beach. It is an International/Olympic distance event, offering the perfect race for beginners and seasoned triathletes looking for a challenge in heart of triathlon's historic birthplace.

Olympic Course:

The course features a 1,500-meter swim in the Silver Strand State Beach Bay. The swim will be a calm bay swim. The water temperature will average 58 degrees. (Wetsuits are recommended.) The bike course will be a flat and fast 40K bike course that will consist of two loops on Hwy 75. The run course is one out-and-back loop covering a 10K course on a dirt trail.

SEAL Sprint:

The swim is an 800-meter/.5-mile swim in the Silver Strand State Beach Bay. The swim will be a calm bay swim. The water temperature will average 58 degrees. Wetsuits are recommended. The bike course will be a flat and fast 20km/12.4 -mile bike course that will consist of one loop on Hwy 75. Safety helmets are required for the bike portion of the race. The run course is an approximate 6km/3.1-mile course on a dirt trail. The run will be composed of one out-and-back loop.

If you need a little more challenge than just 3-miles, then the 6-Mile Trail Run Challenge is for you. More fun, more hills, and more scenic lake and mountain views. This trail run is one you won't want to miss.

Renegade Off-Road Triathlon and Duathlon. This 1/2 mile swim, 15 mile (2-loop) bike and 3 mile trail run is challenging enough for the seasoned triathlete yet short enough to entice novices. The mountain bike course has a beginner/intermediate rating. The bike course is a mixture of paved roads, fire roads and single track trails. The trail run is hilly with a mixture of paved paths, fire roads and single track trails.

The Carlsbad Triathlon course begins at Tamarack Surf Beach, and follows the coastline of Carlsbad, past scenic beaches, lagoons and a wildlife preserve. This triathlon boasts a sprint and sprint plus distance.

This race is for everybody: from first-timers to the elites, and their friends and family! The race is done in heats begining with an open-water ocean swim, which is well-marked with buoys. The swim is followed by a bike course, and the race finishes with a run along the beautiful Pacific Ocean coastline. The roads are wide and completely closed to traffic. The course is mostly flat with a couple of rolling areas.

The event is a ticket into the heart of the world-famous wine regions of the Napa and Sonoma valleys, and once you're there, you won't want to leave. There are B&Bs and boutique hotel options to suit every budget, as well as thousands of wineries, craft breweries, and farm-to-table restaurants for pre-race fueling and post-race celebrations. The race also offers a springboard for vacation itineraries including the San Francisco Bay Area, Santa Cruz mountains, and coastal redwood forests.

The split transition race begins at Lake Sonoma, nestled in the beautiful mountains of Northern California. The 1.2-mile swim is a single loop taking place in calm, clean Lake Sonoma. Athletes will transition to their bikes, setting out on the 56-mile course featuring gentle rollers as they ride through famous wine country and quaint towns. The City of Santa Rosa hosts transition two where athletes will begin a tree lined half-marathon along the Santa Rosa Creek trail. The finish line will take place at the new Courthouse Square park ideally located in downtown in Santa Rosa where great food and wine can be enjoyed by all spectators.

Preserving the best parts of the iconic IRONMAN Vineman 70.3 and improving the overall athlete experience, the course, which is less than 10 miles from the original venue, is a tour of Sonoma County's beautiful wine country and pastoral countryside, passing through famous grape growing regions including the Russian River Valley Region, Dry Creek Valley, and Alexander Valley.

Turkey Tri & Pumpkin Pie Kids DuathlonSan Dimas, California, US

Welcome to the Turkey Tri. Come out and BURN those holiday calories with triathlon distances challenging enough for the seasoned triathlete, yet short enough for the novice triathlete. The event begins with a mile, calm, lake swim. The bike is a 14 mile (2-loop) road course that is mostly flat with a couple of small hills. The run is 4.5 miles all on paved surfaces around the lake. Everyone gets a piece of Pumpkin Pie at the finish line!

Don't forget the kids! The Turkey Tri is fun for the whole family! Come out to participate in the Turkey Tri and bring the kids for the Pumpkin Pie Kids Duathlon. Keep your kids in the action and promote physical fitness with this 1/2 mile run, 2-mile bike and 1/2 mile run. Good for Ages 4-12
