The ninth Outlaw Triathlon is all set for summer 2018. One of Nottingham's key sporting events, the Outlaw has become (almost) even more legendary than Robin Hood, the Major Oak and Brian Clough!

Those who have conquered the Outlaw Triathlon are remembered in local folklore for having outwitted the Sheriff to complete a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run. As long as you can cover the distance in 17 hours or less, you will become an Outlaw. Six men have completed it every year since the Outlaw was launched in 2010; can they come back and finish it for a ninth time this year? And will you be joining them as a competitor or spectator?

The event begins with a mass swim start in the Regatta Lake at Nottingham's National Water Sports Centre. Its an out and back swim course which is easy to navigate. With transition right next to the swim exit you'll have every opportunity to set a super-quick time and even faster escape onto your bike.

The roads around Nottinghamshire are ideal for fast riding (time trial bike friendly) and there is only the odd short climb to challenge you, but dont underestimate the wind!

On returning to the National Water Sports Centre our merry men will rack your bike and see you out on to the flat run course around the lake and on to the River Trent path. You'll pass Trent Bridge, the City Ground, Wilford Suspension Bridge and the Victoria Embankment. The multi-lap course, which has been measured by UK Athletics, offers a feed station every mile or so, and is lined with supporters willing you all the way to the finish line.

On arrival at the finish you will receive a hero's welcome and be crowned a modern day Outlaw. Then you can enjoy the festival atmosphere with thousands of spectators cheering the athletes home until the sun finally sets on a spectacular day of racing.

Outlaw has been recognised as 220 Triathlon Magazine's Event of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 & 2017 and British Triathlon's Event of the Year in 2011.

IRONMAN Canada builds on the tradition of the namesake race that has been part of the IRONMAN circuit for over 30 years. Since moving to Whistler in 2013 it has wowed athletes and their supporters year after year. The race runs through the traditional territory of the Squamish & Lilwat Nations.

The race begins with a two-loop, 2.4-mile swim in the clean, shallow waters of Alta Lake. The average water temperature in late July is 67 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit, making it a perfect and comfortable wetsuit-legal swim.

Athletes transition to their bikes at a lake side transition area before beginning a unique one-loop bike course. The 112-mile course compares to the challenging but spectacular routes at IRONMAN Lake Placid and IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene. The course begins on the Sea-to-Sky Highway before climbing into the Callaghan Valley (the site of the Nordic skiing events during the 2010 Winter Olympics). After descending back to the highway, athletes pass through the town of Whistler on their way north to Pemberton. A flat out-and-back section opens to breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks before returning to Whistler over rolling terrain.

The two-loop run course follows the meandering Valley Trail past Lost Lake and Green Lake, allowing spectators plenty of opportunities to cheer for their athletes. At the halfway point through Whistler Village, competitors will get a boost right where it matters most. The day ends in Whistler's Olympic Plaza, a central and festive location to cross the finish line, secure your medal, and celebrate your accomplishment.

The city of Zurich lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history, and much of the ancient center has been preserved. The city has embraced contemporary trends as well, converting old factories into creative spaces for cultural events. Zurich is consistently recognized as one of the most livable cities in Europe. In Zurich, as is typical for Switzerland, everything from shopping to spas and restaurants is very close to the race site and within walking distance.

This race offers a symmetrical one-loop swim course in the crystal clear water of Lake Zurich. After the 3.8k swim portion, a spectacular bike course leads you through the city center and then out of town along the lake shore; 30km later on the bike you wouldnt think there was a city even close by. For the next hour, athletes ride along grazing lands, past small villages, and over the rolling countryside of Zurich. The two climbs, "The Beast" and "Heartbreak Hill," are lined with spectators cheering and ringing cow bells. The newly designed multifaceted four-loop run course takes athletes through downtown Zurich. They will run down the world-famous Bahnhofstrasse and through beautiful alleys. After passing the town's landmarks and the historic buildings, they will run back along the shores of Lake Zurich.
