Join over 7,000 triathletes at the beautiful World heritage site, Blenheim Palace, for the 14th running of the UK's most stunning triathlon. Known by many as the season opener, this is the second largest triathlon in the UK and a firmly established must-do event.

We have combined this breath-taking backdrop with sport, to produce what can only be described as the most stunning triathlon in the UK.

Now in its 14th year, the second largest triathlon in the UK is known by many in the industry as the season opener and is a firmly established must-do event for any budding triathlete.

Blenheim Palace is an idyllic setting for a triathlon, with an open water lake swim and mostly fast and flat bike and run legs on traffic free roads. With options of sprint and super sprint distances this really is a fantastic event for elites, beginners and everyone in between. And the Weekend Warrior challenge is the ultimate test of endurance. Entrants attempt to complete as many triathlons as they can during racing hours, over the two days of the event weekend.

The Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon course consists of a fresh lake open water swim, a gently undulating bike course and a picturesque run route around the Queens Pool.

The atmosphere at the Bloodwise Blenheim Palace Triathlon is always spectacular and this is mainly down to the wonderful level of support the event receives from spectators. So for those not taking part please feel free to come along to Blenheim Palace, bring a picnic, look around the Capability Brown landscaped gardens and make a weekend of it. We will also have special spectator packages coming soon.

Blenheim Palace situated in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, England, is the principal residence of the dukes of Marlborough, and the only non-royal non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. The Palace, one of Englands largest houses, was built between 1705 and circa 1722. In 1987 the Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The building of the Palace was originally intended to be a reward to John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough, for the dukes military triumphs in the 1704 Battle of Blenheim. Designed in the rare English Baroque style, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown, it is unique in its combined use as a family home, mausoleum and national monument. The Palace is also the birthplace and ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill.

Family pool based triathlon with enclosed junior events and an adult country road cycle out of town and a partial woodland run section.

The Leisure Centre is perfect for the swim section of the event, with its 6 lane pool, modern facilities and looks directly down over the transition area and finish gantry. The adult sprint distance cycle stage begins by meandering through the ancient part of the town and very quickly leads out to the Buckinghamshire country roads. This fast section takes cyclists through some picturesque villages before returning to Buckingham Town. The adult sprint distance run follows a pleasant out-and-back run route along a section of the wooded circular footpath before finishing by the Leisure Centre.

One of the best rural tri's you will ever take part in. Ideal for beginners to triathlon, a friendly and welcoming venue plays host to the 150 athletes who take part each year.

An AQUABIKE finish line. If you are unable (or simply choose not) to do the run for any reason, such as an injury, we will publish results of the swim and bike as an Aquabike event. We expect that there will be no special entry or registration for this, so even if you simply retire after the bike or an old injury comes to get you on the run, you will get an Aquabike finish time. Any awards may depend on numbers.
