The King's Runner 10k is on March 3 and starts right by Thomas Square in Honolulu and is completely flat.

The Hapalua, Hawaii's Half-Marathon on April 14, starts on Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki.

**Both events have a no time limit policy - Everyone gets to finish!**

I liked the old route better.  Didn't enjoy going up Diamond head seeing the returning runner and coming down seeing the latter runners.  I rather enjoy the scenery going around Diamond Head.  Overall it's still a well organized race.

I did the virtual race and found the event was well organized. My shirt and medal were shipped quickly and submitting my info was super easy. This was a good way for me to ease back into races again. 

Love this race.  Wasn't a big fan of the new route this year though

FYI - I only did the Hapalua "IKI" 5K as a test runner. The cones on the turn off of Atkinson needed to die into the median so it's more obvious which side of the bvld to go on. Going down kapahulu toward the finish I had to run on the sidewalk to avoid oncoming runners at the end of the pack. Overall was a very fun experience.

New course was butt cheeks lol. But the people and volunteers were all very nice.

The course was great, but those end hills are brutal! The overall atmosphere was fun & upbeat enough that adrenaline carried me through the race! 

great event!  thanks for all the treats at the end... wish I had a bag to hold it all! loved the 22-minute delayed video of the finish line.  My only wishes: if there had been some gel or gu at aid/water stations along the course.  And maybe a discount code for participants of the 2023 Honolulu Marathon.  

We always enjoyed the race but we definitely liked the previous route better. The previous course was more scenic versus the current out and back version. 

Everything was superbly organised, from handing out the bins to providing refreshments during the race and at the finish. The course was well chosen. The volunteers were very friendly and helpful. All in all, a great experience. 

Huge Mahalo to Great Kokua crews!!I was walking around and up/down in the convention center.  If there were some sighs, would me easy to find the room to pick up packet. There were much less venders and free samples than other Races.  Result app is kind of not popular? and i can't see the place# out of how many total/male/female/category. Needed more detail numbers.I went back the hotel and figured it out I'm 2nd place of my age category.  I didn't know about the ceremony, awards, information.  I assumed the ceremony for just overall top 3.After the race hard to get out from the park to street to walk back the hotel.  If there were some sighs, would be easy to go back especially before soaking wet body gets cold and the rain.Mahalo

I liked the old course with the two loops better - doing the downtown loop and the loop around diamond head made the run more interesting than the out and back which was more boring. Other than the course change, it was my 3rd Hapalua and atmosphere is always great!

I think it would be cool to get a short that says finisher when you finish

They ran out of post race bread. Us slow finishers got the leftover mooncakes

I was disappointed in the new course. I was disappointed they did not provide goo at mile nine this year.

Everything was phenomenal! Honestly the best organized half marathon ever. I did have a few recommendations to further improve the experience. I recommend having more energy gels at a few of the water stops. At least two water stations could have them. I also wonder if it’s feasible to bump up the start to 5 or 530 am? This years race was hotter than it has been in the past. I had noticed a lot of heat casualties while I was running the last mile. Moving the start time up would allow runners to spend more time running in lower temperatures. I’m also wondering if it’s feasible to have packet pickup at different locations on island? I live in Wahiawa and it’s difficult to drive back and forth to Honolulu twice in one weekend. For example, people on north shore/wahiawa/mililani could pick up their packets at Runners Hi in Waipio.

My first half marathon in 10 years and it was very well organized. Perfect amount of hydration stations. I prefer the trek west and ending with the Diamond Head portion. 

Great experience, challenging course - especially last part with hills, wonderful volunteers along the course at aid stations.

I was actually a test runner for the Hapalua Iki course. I like the first 1.5 miles of the course that wrapped around the Convention Center. However, if you do the Hapalua Iki, you'll need to have more signage and cones to direct the runners who are doing the 1/2 toward the right of Atkinson, and left side of Atkinson for the Iki runners.Same suggestion for the finish to ensure that the Hapalua 1/2 marathon runners stay on the left side of Kalakaua, and right side by placing cones separating the road before they hit Kapahulu.

Very organized, nice ending with malasadas!  Great water stations- lots of help. Wonderful experience and it didn’t rain!  

Loved running the Hapalua, thanks to all the event staff and volunteers working the aid stations. 

I loved the new course, much rather run thru Kapiolani Park. :) 

So many volunteers and all so nice. Course was good with the hill towards end making it challenging. Very well organized. Especially the finish. Mahalo nui loa

Well organized. However, need to have a lot more MEDIUM and LARGE size shirts for men. 

We had a lot of room to run once we got past the first mile.  How many runners finished?

It would be nice to have more music on the road; perhaps school ensembles and drummers could be invited, even if just for the last mile. The malasadas run out it was not enought for everybody.

I strongly disliked the course changes - the course the last couple years as more of a loop made it more enjoyable & the full lap of diamond head is iconic. BRING BACK FULL LAP OF DIAMONDHEAD

It was my first time and it was an amazing experience. My only not awesome thing is that some people are not honest about their position and ability. It makes it more difficult for more competitive runners to have to pass walkers in the very beginning. 

So much fun!!!!! Maybe have some more music around the course :) thank you

I loved the whole thing. It took me over three hours though and they were out of malasadas when I finished. Very disappointed about that. 

Water/gatorade/bathrooms everywhere was great. Malasadas and pineapple juice at end were fun. More music along the course would be good. 

It was a really great experience, definitely want to do it again!

I loved the run over all, specially the motivation surrounding us and how much effort everyone has done for this event to happen :)

The event is a lot of fun. We look forward to it.  The only negative is the new course ... it just isn't the same feeling as running around Diamond Head.
