Route information
Starting on the west side of Alcatraz, participants will swim through the bay. Aiming for about 200 yards left to the entrance of Aquatic Park, swimmers will enter the cove and finish the swim on the east side of the beach.
After the swim, the run will continue along the San Francisco Coast via Marina green drive, out to the turn around point at the Golden Gate Bridge. After that, participants will return to the transition zone to finish.
There will be plenty of lifeguards and kayakers in the bay to make sure all swimmers are safe. The water temperature is expected to be between 58-62°F. The swim has a cut off time of 75 minutes.
There is one aid station on the run that participants will pass twice. The event has a time limit of 3.5 hours.
