Get creative with this colourful costume filled 12k. Great for runners of all levels, the course follows the historic 1912 route that San Franciscans ran to help rebuild the city's moral following the 1906 earthquake. Come for the physical challenge or for the vibrant fancy dress costumes.

Can I bring a bag on the course?bags allowed on the race course?
Due to heightened security procedures, bags, backpacks and containers are banned from the Alaska Airlines Bay to Breakers race course, unless they are clear and are no larger than 8.5”x11”x4”. Participants will not be allowed to enter the starting area, race course or Finish Line Festival with any bag that does not conform to these rules. Route description
- The Bay to Breakers 12K race starts on the corner of Main Street and Howard Street.
- The route heads west through the city and finishes at the Great Highway along the Pacific Coast’s Ocean Beach.
- Runners will get the chance to run up the iconic Hayes Street Hill, along the Panhandle and through Golden Gate Park.
- The city of San Francisco turn out in force to cheer on the runners in this historic race.
Bonus runners are treated to an additional 3k along The Great Highway that runs parallel to the stunningly beautiful Ocean Beach.
PRE RACE
Mail Packets will be sent out two weeks before the race.
For those late to sign up, runners will be able to pick up their race packets at the 2020 Health and Wellness Expo on Friday, May 29th between 11am to 7pm and Saturday 30th May 9am-5pm.

Runners are encouraged to choose their coral based on their running pace.
SEEDED*: Sub- 6 minutes per mile pace
SUB-SEEDED*: 6-7 minutes per mile pace
CORRAL A: 7-8 minutes per mile pace
CORRAL B: 8-9 minutes per mile pace
CORRAL C: 9-10 minutes per mile pace
*Must provide link to race results verifying your pace
CORRAL D: 10-11 minutes per mile pace

Get directionsThere is no main parking lot for Pier 35, and it is recommended you book convenient and affordable parking in advance through the Spot Hero parking app.
On the day there will be a variety of shuttle options available:
North Bay Shuttle: The shuttle will pickup from the Mill Valley Park & Ride lot (Manzanita Parking Lot, Shoreline Highway) and take you to the Start Line. After the race the shuttle will depart from the Finish Line Festival and return to the Mill Valley Park & Ride lot.
South Bay Shuttle: The shuttle will pickup from the Millbrae Park & Ride lot (BART Station at Millbrae Avenue) and take you to the Start Line. After the race the shuttle will depart from the Finish Line Festival at and return to the Millbrae Park & Ride lot. *This is the best option for CALTRAIN Riders
East Bay Shuttle: The shuttle will pickup from the Emeryville Park & Ride lot (Emeryville Amtrak Station) and take you to the Start Line. After the race the shuttle will depart from the Finish Line Festival at and return to the Emeryville Park & Ride lot.
