Bayshore 70.4 Triathlon

The swim sections will take place in a flat, calm bay. It is a one way swim along the buoy line, keeping the buoy line on your left shoulder at all times. The temperature will be between 65-61 degrees. The 70.4 participants must make 2 laps of the course, coming out of the water and running around a cone to complete a lap.

The 70.4 triathlon bike course is an open road course with one aid station at the turn around point before 10 FWY. Participants will take the following route: 3 right turns on way out and 2 left turns to enter the San Gabriel Bike Path, then About 5 Lights outbound on streets before you hit the bike path (shouldn’t be an issue) 2 of them you will be making a right turn onto bike lane, followed by a relatively flat paths with some dips under overpasses. Then turn right before mile 6ish you will make a left turn to cross a white. Do not go straight. Volunteer and race arrows will direct you to turn left. On the return - after you have hit aid station at mile 28 & loop round the cone, head back on path. Will cross a bridge again. Right turn onto Marina drive, right turn on Marine drive again. Left turn onto 2nd street, and hug Bayshore Ave till it dead ends into T2 which will be across the street T1.

The Sprint bike course takes its first turn past 3.4mile mark on shoreline bike path, then it will head back to Ocean BLVD where transition is, before crossing street to T2 make right turn down Ocean to dead end and loop back.

The 70.4 run course is a flat course with 3 loops and 3 aid stations on the course that you will pass multiple times. The Sprint run course/4 mile run course is a flat out and back route adjacent to the bike path along the ocean.
