Route information
Each course includes a very short section of paved trail (about 2-300 yards) with the majority of the courses being on fire roads. All courses will finish along a 1.1 mile stretch of beautiful and very well-shaded single track.
The half marathon and 10K courses will be single loops.
The 5K course is a single loop that includes one out-and-back section. This course will include a steady, but not too steep, increase in elevation during the first half, and end with rolling hills down through the single track section.
Each course will be marked with colored ribbons, signs and flour, so that runners know they are on the correct course. As can be seen in the course map above, with the exception of the out-and-back section of the 5K, there are no sections where runners will be going in the opposite directions of other runners, making the course extremely straightforward and easy to follow. Volunteers will also be on the course at key locations to help direct runners.

How to get there
Briones Regional Park, 5363 Alhambra Valley Rd, Martinez, CA 94553, USA
Get full directionsThe location of the race start is the Bear Creek Staging Area of Briones Regional Park. Make sure your directions are going there and not to one of the other entrances!
Please note: the best way we've found to reach this park with an online map or with a GPS device is to use the intersection of Briones Road and Bear Creek Road. If you try to use the street address sometimes attributed to it (1611 Bear Creek Road), you may end up lost. Google Maps puts the location of that address approximately two miles northwest of the actual park entrance!
Parking inside the park is available for $3.00 per vehicle until the lots are full.

Bib Pick-Up:
Runners have three options for picking up their bibs and shirts:
1. Mail-out service (for an additional price).
2. Pick-up in person at Road Runner Sports Concord on Thursday, August 8th (3pm-7pm) and Friday, August 9th (11am-3pm). Runners who pick their bib up in person will receive in-store discounts.
3. Pick-up on race morning (not recommended).
2. Pick-up in person at Road Runner Sports Concord on Thursday, August 8th (3pm-7pm) and Friday, August 9th (11am-3pm). Runners who pick their bib up in person will receive in-store discounts.
3. Pick-up on race morning (not recommended).
In order to avoid race morning stress and avoid having to arrive even earlier, we strongly recommend choosing options 1 or 2. If you are unable to take advantage of those first two options, race morning pick-up will still be available, but you should aim to arrive 70-90 minutes ahead of your race start to account for lines.
Raceday Registration:
It is possible that the race is 100% sold out before race day. Updates will be posted on the race website. If you do not see the race noted as sold out here or on the race home page, you will be okay to sign up on race morning, starting at 6:45 a.m. Race day registration is an additional $5 from the final online registration price.
Hikers:
For half marathon participants who wish to hike the course and take more than 4.5 hours, we will offer a "Hiker Division" start at 7:00 am. Those starting at 7:00 should carry water as the first and second aid stations might not be 100% up and running, depending on the hiker's speed. Hiker starts will not be eligible to win the race or for age group awards, but will be listed as official finishers in the Hiker Division and will still receive finisher medals.
