You will never experience a more glorious triathlon swim than the one at Bear Lake and the incredible mountain range in the background for the entirety of the bike and run makes this event just so special. This is a very friendly event, which is very well organised and has an amazing atmosphere.

Route information
Full Iron
  • Swim Course 2.4 Miles (4 Laps) -The swim will be a diamond loop. There will be buoys marking the route.. The first buoy will be at 250 meters, the second will be 215 meters, the third will be 215 meters and from that to finish is another 250 meters. This is done this way to give a extra buoy to the current swim triangle course and make it a 1.2 Mile distance. Full Distance must swim this four times to get the complete distance. This will allow for more lifeguard support. Water temps have been around 62-65 degrees the last 3 years.
  • Bike Course 112 Miles (One Lap and a little more done twice) - This course exits out of Bear Lake Hot Springs right and heads across the South on the East Shore Road. Racers will turn right at Laketown and head West then North to St Charles, Idaho. At St. Charles Idaho racers will head back to Bear Lake Hot Springs. Prior to returning into the Hot Springs the racers will head South for a extra 2.7 miles out and back on the East Road to complete the 56 Miles. Distance around lake is 50.6 Miles. Doing this course twice will give you 112 miles on the bike. Aid Stations are Mile 21, 44, 56, 77, 100. Relief Bag at Mile 56 and as you finish the bike course at Mile 112. (Aid Stations include Bike Water Bottles with Electrolyte, Water, bathrooms)
  • Run Course 26.2 Miles (Two Laps)- This course is out and back twice. It leaves the Bear Lake Hot Springs and West across the North Beach Road. At Mile 6.55 you will return to the start of the run and do it again. 13.1 Miles then repeat. This is primarily a flat straight course with beautiful views of Bear Lake. Aid Stations are 1.55 to 1.8 Miles apart and they are as follows: Start, Mile 1.55, 3.1, 4.825, 6.55, 8.25, 10, 11.55, 13.1 (w/Relief Bag), 14.65, 16.24, 18.01, 19.65, 21.35, 23.1, 24.65. Aid Stations have an assortment of Gels, Granola Bars, Candy, Oranges, Bananas, water, electrolyte and more. Finish Line - Includes Two Hot Soups, Bread, Ice Cream, Peanut Butter, Oranges, Bananas.
Half Iron

  • Swim Course 1500 Meters (2 Laps) - This is going back to a triangle looped course. Each buoy is about 250 Meters apart.
  • Bike Course 24.8 Miles - This course exits out of Bear Lake Hot Springs and heads South on the East side of Bear Lake. They will turn around at mile 12.4. The bike course has some rollers and primarily straight. The course is out and back and totals 24.8 Miles (12.4 Miles up and back). Olympic distances for the bike course do not have aid stations and bikers are expected to carry a bottle for hydration.
  • Run Course 6.2 Miles - This course is out and back. It runs along the North Beach Road. This is a flat and 100% paved. It turns around at mile 3.1. Aid stations at Miles 1.55, 3.1 (Turn Around Point), and 4.65. Water, Powerade, and gels at all of them.
Sprint Triathlon
  • Swim Course 750 Meters - This is a going back to a triangle looped course. Each buoy is about 250 Meters apart.
  • Bike Course 12.4 Miles - This course exits out of Bear Lake Hot Springs and heads South on the East side of Bear Lake. They will turn around at mile 6.2. The bike course has some rollers and primarily straight. The course is out and back and totals 12.4 Miles (6.2 Miles up and back). Sprint distances for a bike course do not have aid stations and expect bikers to carry a bottle for hydration.
  • Run Course 3.1 Miles - This course is out and back. It follows along the North Beach Road a beautiful road with Bear Lake to the South and returns the same path. This course is 100% paved. We have you run with traffic on the way out and against it on the way back. Aid station at turn around point 1.55 Mile

Location - The event will be held at Bear Lake Hot Springs, ID 83272, located about 2.5 hours north of Salt Lake City along I-80 E.
Parking & Directions -
Parking is limited to the first 500 who purchase a parking pass for these events. Parking is at the East Parking lot of the Transition area and someone will direct you into the park as you try to park. If you preordered a parking pass you will get one in your race packet. A parking pass is required per participant and it includes a pass to Bear Lake Hot Springs. $10 per car. Carpooling is encouraged to save money.

This is a great spectator event. All family and friends come along - there is a nice seating area at the venue.

You can pick up your race pack from 4pm to 8pm on the day before the event, Friday 13th September, or on the morning of the event from 6am to 7:30am.
