What about the weather?

The expo & race will go on even with some rain. However, if there is lightning, we will make a game day decision for the safety best of our runner’s & expo guest’s safety as our top concern.

Challenge Medals

Once you complete your 10K and 5K, please visit the registration tent on race day to receive your Challenge medal.

What is gear check?

Before you run, drop-off your pre-race/post-race clothing and belongings at the Gear Check. While you run, your gear will be held at Gear Check. Please note: DO NOT leave valuables, cash or jewelry in your gear bag. The event is not responsible for any lost items. Gear bags must be claimed before 12:00 pm on race day.

Wearing your bib (WHERE to wear it to ensure photos):

Please wear your bib on the front and center of your shirt or outermost layer. This will make it visible for course photographers so that you can take advantage of the free race photos. It will also help the timing maps properly read your timing chip.

What is a pacer?

At BDR, we offer pacers so that you can reach your goal if you have a specific finish time you’d like to reach. The pacers are local runners who have dedicated their race to run a set pace to help you reach your finish time. We do only have pacers for our half marathon distance.

Can I bring my kid in a stroller?

You are more than welcome to run with your jogging stroller. We do ask, that if possible, to start in the back for the safety of other runners, and for you & your mini-me!

Great organization and event. Regardless of the course you choose, it's tough but worth it once you've finished.

Love the 10 k distance and course! Weather was really good this year second year at the landing which worked really well. Lots of friendly people. Love that we have been a part of the race here the last 5 years following my wife's double lung transplant. Something we look forward to each year!
  • Did the Half Marathon in 2019

Race started too late causing runners to have to dodge pedestrians on a course which is not closed towards the end. Not enough port-a-lets.

Overall an amazing experience! Wish more people ran the half but... packet pickup was a breeze, prerace was good. Ive never been to a race where lines arent long for restrooms. Could have used maybe 5 more restrooms? Maybe more photographers? Ill be back next year! Assuming the course doesnt change.
  • Did the 10K in 2019

Very well organized race! Loved that we started right on time!!! Course was good as was the atmosphere. Maybe you could arrange to have a loop run in TIAA field - that would really enhance the course! If Jacksonville can get their act together and revitalize The Landing it would make this an even better event.

Best Damn Race Jacksonville was enjoyable and I would consider coming back. The whole experience was smooth, easy and well organised. Everything including awards was on time. Course was good as far as a city course goes. Easy enough for the novice with a couple small bites for the competitive. A couple nice peeks at the river along the way. I stayed at a hotel near the race area and walked to and from which made it possible to sleep more and take a shower after the race before going back for awards.
