🏃‍♀️🎉 Get ready for an exhilarating event! Join us at the 2023 Alumni Cross Country Run, hosted by Shore A.C. in honor of the legendary Bill Bruno. This exciting event will take place at Holmdel Park on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Lace up your running shoes and prepare for an unforgettable day of racing! 🏃‍♂️🌳 Whether you're a seasoned runner or new to the sport, there's something for everyone. Choose between the traditional 5K race at 8:30 AM or the shorter 3K race at 9:00 AM. Holmdel Park offers a stunning yet challenging cross country course that you won't want to miss. And don't worry, there's ample parking available on-site! But that's not all! We have some exciting team competitions lined up. Gather your high school/college team or put together a club, family, friends, or business team and vie for victory. And if you're an individual runner, don't worry, we've got you covered too. Registration is now open, with early bird rates of $20 for the 5K and $10 for the 3K until October 10. From October 11 to November 10, prices will be $24 for the 5K and $16 for the 3K. If you prefer to register on the event day, we've got you covered, but please note that the rates will be $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 3K. Oh, and did we mention that the first 100 entrants will receive a custom race shirt? So make sure to sign up early and secure yours! For those who are curious about the schedule, bib pick-up and race day registration will start at 7:30 AM. The 5K race will kick off at 8:30 AM, followed by the 3K race at 9:00 AM. Now, let's talk about the race itself. All entrants are welcome, regardless of their affiliation. We suggest the 3K race for elementary and middle school-aged kids, and the 5K race for high schoolers and beyond. You can compete solo or join a team, just make sure to select "join a team" during registration. And here's the best part, you don't have to be a New Jersey alumni to participate. Anyone can run, from club runners to unattached individuals. Looking for some friendly competition? We've got scoring in place for each race based on each team's top three finishers. Individuals not on a team will not be included in the scoring, but don't worry, we'll have some amazing chip-timed and live results to keep things exciting. At the end of the race, we'll have awards for the top three overall female and male finishers, as well as the top three female and male teams. The awards ceremony will take place near the finish line once all the runners have crossed. And to make it even better, your participation supports a great cause. Proceeds from this event will benefit The Shore Athletic Club, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing youth and teen track and field runners, promoting cross country, track and field, and long distance running as lifetime sports. Not only that, but any additional donations made during registration will also go towards Theodore Roosevelt National Park, a place that held a special place in Bill Bruno's heart.
