The Black Butte Triathlon is back. Events will include an Olympic Distance Triathlon, a Sprint Distance Triathlon, and a Duathlon. There will be a relay category for the Olympic distance triathlon. All events will be USAT Sanctioned. The race is managed by the Chico Triathlon Club.

Route information
Distance:
- Swim: 1.5k, 750m
- Bike: 40k, 20k
- Run: 10k, 5k
Terrain:
- Swim: Lake
- Bike: Paved Roads
- Run: Trail
Swimmers will traverse the course clockwise. Sprint racers will do one lap of the swim course while Olympic racers will complete two laps.
The bike course for all events is out and back. Sprint and Duathlon racers will turn around after 10 km (6.2 miles). Olympic racers will continue to the turnaround at 20 km (12.4 miles). A mandatory foot-down stop is required at the exit of the park before turning left on Newville Rd.
There is a single 5km trail run course for all events. Sprint and Duathlon racers will complete one loop. Olympic racers will complete two loops.

Packet Pickup
Pickup will be available the morning of the event from 7:00 am. You will need to bring a photo ID and a USAT membership card/number.
